   Getting Started

Ownership

Owning and operating a fantasy football team will greatly enhance your football viewing pleasure.  Rooting for your players and against your opponents adds an extra dimension to every game.  Just as with all sports leagues, there are fees involved.   At the beginning of each season you will purchase a franchise for the modest sum of $25.00.  In addition you will pay a $5.00 fee to the commissioner which pays for time and materials involved in running the and league and extravagant business trips.  Now for you Mensa kids that is a grand total of $30.00 due on the day of the draft.

Team Name

The name of your team is a direct reflection on you.  On the day of the draft you will provide the commissioner with your team name.  Failure to do so will result in a name being assigned to you by the commissioner's wife.

League Format

The C.P.F.F.L  will consist of 10 teams.  These teams will be split into 2 divisions  ( The Bundy's and the Simpson's). Each team will play a 14 game schedule beginning the first week of the regular season.  At the end of this 14 weeks the top 2 teams from each division will advance to the playoffs.  Ties for playoff position will be as follows:

1.  Head to head record

2.  Total points scored during the season

3.  Divisional record

4.  Coin Toss

Week 1 of the playoffs the #1 seed will play the #4 seed and the #2 seed will play the #3 seed.  The winners of these games will advance to the championship game and the losers will play for third place.  The top three finishers will receive payment based on the total of franchise fees ($25 x 10 = $250) plus the total of all transaction fees.  Prizes will be paid out as follows:

First Place        75%

Second Place    15%

Third Place       10%

Fourth Place     A towel for crying

The last place team in each division will play each other in the Toilet Bowl during the first week of the playoffs.  The loser of this game will be responsible for providing the snacks at next years draft.  We are very lucky to be having our menu provided by the same team for the second year in a row.

The Draft

Now that you have bought your franchise, you and the other nine owners must stock your rosters.  The drafting of players will occur on a pre-set date at a pre-set location.  Prior to the draft a drawing will be held to determine draft order.  You may trade your draft picks with other owners by round (not entire draft position as this determines division seding).  There is no charge for the trading of draft picks.  The team drawing the first draft position will choose first in the first round.  The draft order will be reversed in even numbered rounds with the team which drew draft position number ten drafting first.  The draft will consist of sixteen rounds.  At the end of the draft each owner must be able to field a starting line up as follows:

1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/SP

You may draft any combination of players you wish as long as you can field a starting line up at the end, it is wise to draft ample backup players as injuries always play a role in a teams success.  It is up to you to identify players bye weeks and draft accordingly.

Weekly Line Up

Prior to game time each week you are required to submit the players from your roster that you wish to have your scoring based on.  This will consist of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/SP.  In addition you will provide the commissioner with how many points you think your team will score for the week.  In the event of a tie score, the team which guesses the closest (the difference between estimated points and actual points) to it's actual point total will win.  If this does not produce a winner, the team which did not go over their estimated points will win.   In the event that this does not produce a winner, the win will be awarded by coin toss to be performed by the commissioner and co-commissioner.  Line ups containing players whose teams are playing on Sunday or Monday are due by game time on Sunday.   In the event you have a player playing in a game on a day other than Sunday or Monday, you must submit that players name to the commissioner by game time (just the player involved), along with your points guess for the week.  This prevents any unfair advantages.  You may make changes to your submitted line up up until game time.

Failure to submit  a line up prior to game time will result in your previous weeks being used regardless of injuries or bye weeks.  The point of fantasy football is participation.
