Corridor monitoring

The Institute for Transport Studies has many videos monitoring pedestrian
flow in university corridors.  They have analysed these by hand to
identify congestion problems.

Hand analysis is time consuming and error prone; existing Computer
Vision techniques make automatic analysis a possibility.
This project will explore these options in various scenarios.  It will
involve understanding computer analysis of video sequence, and reading up
on relevant aspects of tracking.

Implementation would be in C++ under Unix.

The project will be completed by 10 May 2000.
