The 2nd running of the Race the Ferry Hash Dash was held on Sunday 24 March 2002 at 11 am (ISH). Last year's inaugural event had only 9 entrants (and a 9-year-old girl won, in a time of 19 minutes!) but this year 27 runners lined up on the unusually hot and sunny, but windy, day


This run is part of the Williamstown Festival and is also sponsored by Butt Buslines and the Williamstown Bay & River Cruises ferry company. It is one of the latter's ferries which the runners race from the jetty at Scienceworks to Gem Pier in WIlliamstown, 4 kilometres down the foreshore trail bikepath.
