Grandma's house State Capitol Ruby's Home

I live in Wisconsin. It is very pretty here. We have very cold, snowy winters and hot, active summers. There is a lot of farming in Wisconsin, so the farmers depend on our kind of weather for the crops, like corn, to grow. We are a dairy state and very proud of our cheeses. Seventeen miles from our house is a town named Monroe. Every other summer they have a festival called Cheese Days. They have bands, parades, dances, and tents and booths full of every kind of cheese you can think of. My favorite is the fried cheese curds. Ummm mm. Monroe is our cheese capital.

We don't just have woods, some places are very hilly because the glaciers once came through part of our state. The Wisconsin and the Mississippi are just two of our popular rivers. We went for a duck ride(a large land/water vehicle)on the Wisconsin River last year in the Dells (North of us). It was really exciting and a lot of fun! When we want to spend a day driving and looking at scenery, we like to drive toward Iowa and along the Mississippi River. Once we stopped and waded in the river, we found many different shells and we watched the tug boats pull the huge barges.
