Cranberry Coulis

2 Cups Fresh cranberries (or 1 cup dried)
1 Cup Water (or 2 cups for dried)
1/4 Cup Maple syrup
  Pinch Allspice

COMBINE cranberries, water and maple syrup in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring often, about 15 minutes (45 minutes to 1 hour for dried berries), until fruit is soft and sauce has thickened.

Stir in allspice and cook several minutes longer. Cool to room temperature before serving. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
