The Beginning.
What began in 1995 has now exploded on the web. Yes, exploded. It's been through billions of formats and countless lines of code, but it has never been good enough. The first page was originally a school project that was censored by the teacher, the censored version posted in school and the uncensored one posted at http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/8514. It was the 2nd page to be posted on the web, the first being from Arnav. As you can see, it was uploaded such a long time ago that a lot of "short" Geocities URLs were available. Version 1.0 was very very limited by current standards - in fact, it was such a bad representation of Aherdofturtles that all traces of it were deleted - wiped out for all eternity in the endless spiral of Betamax and eight-tracks.

The Development.
Version 2.0 then was posted one the web. It sucked. It lasted 2 weeks. Then 3.0 emerged. That had annoying javascript pop-ups. It had irritating background music (thank god you could turn it off) by Oasis - Champagne Supernova in midi. To your left, you can click on the picture to grasp a general idea of pure immaturity. If you squint a lot (or click the image to make it big) you can see that Version 3 was named 'A Mango Chutney of Stuff???!!!' which wasn't the greatest name in the world, but it sounded really cool at that time. Fact was: it needed a lot of help.

The Accendency.
This was the page that attract the most fame. Titled "GET OUT!" Version 4 simply kicked TOO MUCH ASS. The background recieved a lot of rave reviews and a lot of emails were sent in with 'Kool Idea' (or something like that) in the subject line. Basically, this page EMPHASIZED originality and pure Notepad work in homepages. It was a way of releasing the author's frustration due to countless hours of surfing really -weak- personal homepages that were really boring, dull and stupid. This page had "Breakfast At Tiffany's" in midi format - and that too was irritating.

The Void. With Version 3's popularity, with a huge database of fans came the eventual and inevitable letter from Geocities. They complained that the page contained phrases like, quote: "You such shit!" endquote; and, quote: "...flies under your armpit." endquote. They stated that that all had to go...and we complied. Then a second letter arrived saying that the page would be DELETED in a matter of months if the 'topic' was not removed. A letter was written back requesting the exact problems of the page - as it was a personal homepage by a kid (EnchantedForest catergory). No reply was given. In the meantime our counter passed 1000 for the first time. Next month, we discovered with horror that the page had been WIPED OUT WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. So began the Void. No page was posted, only a small introduction to the site was put up with 'Under Construction' being the prominent words. Later it was discovered that the page was NOT DELETED BY GEOCITIES but by a JEALOUS CLASSMATE with NO BALLS, no dick, and no guts, who should be locked up and denied porno for the rest of his life.

The Return.
Thus Aherdofturtles was due to return. And with it did. "Xzenysam's Place" appeared. Named after the author's very original and 100% funky unprouncable Geocities membername, the site was a moderate success.Very very limited content the site then evolved into version 6.
Similarly named yet featuring photo's for the first time, this version didn't make as big as an impression as we hoped. Both versions featured a random quote generator and 100% original graphics.

The Funk.
With a new computer and Win98, we were able to make Version 7 with a TRUE layout. Now known as '***Aherdofturtles***' we adopted the 'posting' system to update our site (although you can't see it in the picture). Also, for the first time on the web, an ANTI-HANSON test yourself was made available to the public (you can find this under Aherdofturtles:Views/Opinions). More content, frequent updating and a 'new' look at life (in a very depressed way) made this site a great place to go to everyday.
