Software I recommend trying out for Win95

GetRight

Allows graceful recovery and resuming if you are disconnected in the middle of saving a file from the web to your PC's hard drive.
For example: if you have finished getting 95% of that 10 megabyte file and get disconnected, GetRight just finishes getting the last 5% without restarting from the beginning!. The only draw back to the program is that the server you are downloading from MUST support partial requests. Now catches clicks in Netscape.
ShareWare for Win95/NT & Win3.1,
Size: about 600K

Internet Explorer 4.0

This new version adds loads of new features. It may be a large download, but is a very comprehensive program. IE4 includes many desktop and win95 shell enhancing capabilities such as "active desktop" that integrate the internet right into your win95 shell. It's not just a browser, it's a whole operating system upgrade.

Freeware for Win95/NT
Size:
Minimum version: IE 4,0 browser & multimedia enhancements. about 15 MB
Standard version: IE 4.0, Outlook Express & multimedia enhancements. about 18MB

Downloading Alternatives

1. If you have GetRight go to www.tucows.com , go to thier browsers section and download from their. Since most thier servers support resuming this will make downloading IE 4 much easier

2. You can go to MSN or call 1-800-FREE-MSN to recive a free cd to sign on MSN, on the Cd there should be IE4

Flying ToolBars

Flying Toolbars offers a display enhancement to Netscape Navigator. This toolbar strongly resembles the navigation toolbar of the Web's most popular browser and provides the same functionality, but Flying Toolbars automatically hides itself when it's not being used.
The compact window remains hidden and appears only when you move the mouse pointer to the upper or lower edge of the screen. The effect of this is a significant increase in the Web page viewing area, eliminating the need to constantly toggle the standard Navigator menus.

Two Versions
2.5a for Navigator 3 about 391Kb
Registration DLL about 49K

4.01 for Navagator 4 about 563Kb

Version 2.5a is Freeware and works with Navigator 3.x/ Gold & Navigator 4.x
Version 4.01 is Shareware and works ONLY Navigator 4.x

RegClean 4.1 (404 kb)

Very handy and easy to use program that will clean the registry from leftovers and errors, after installing so much shareware and then deleting it your registry is probably full of errors, this will check the registry and remove them. The result is a smaller, faster loading registry. Originaly created for programmers but a great addition to anyones System Tools folder. Version 4.1 is smaller and now it creates an UNDO *.REG file, you can open it with a text editor to see what keys RegClean removed from the registry or you can doubleclick on it to put the garbage back in the registry should you decide you need it. The unregistered version lets you use only 2 of the advanced capabilities at a time, which still gives you a good idea of the capabilities of the program. Shareware

WinAmp

Using MPEG layer 3 audio compression, it is possible to compress large audio files to near 10% of their original size, with no audible loss of quality. WinAmp simply takes these compressed files and decompresses them in real time, while sending and buffering output to your computer's speakers. The result is incredibly small files delivering astounding acoustic quality. In fact, the compression is so significant that it is possible to download a CD-quality stereo soundfile on an ISDN line and listen to it simultaneously! Other standards exist for the 'buffering' of audio as it is downloaded, but MPEG layer 3 is the most significant in that it is based on a widely accepted open standard, and the algorithm delivers the highest quality per unit bandwidth available.
