Well, you're probably wondering why I'm putting this on my site. First of all, I really and truly believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. Second of all, I want the world to know.
I go to TCBC, and was baptized on December 19th, 1999. This is my testimony:

I grew up in a Christian family, came to church every Sunday and I learned about God, learned about Jesus, learned about the Bible. I believed in it all, but since I was so young, I probably didn't really understand what it all really meant. Eventually, I'd still come to church, but I'd forget everything that I learned during the week, and sometimes I didn't even want to come. In the very back of my mind, I still believed in Jesus, but it just stayed in the back of my mind, and I never really thought about it. But a few years back, I started to realize that coming to church is important, and the things I learn don't just apply to Sundays when I'm here. I started praying again. I remembered what my cousin told me when we were around ten; she said something like "We need to ask Jesus into our heart and ask for forgiveness so we can be saved." I remembered this, and I prayed. I can't really explain it, but when I did this, I felt more at peace in my heart. My faith in God and Jesus grew stronger even though the road's been a bit bumpy because of being so stressed out from school and from being a teenager. I can't really pinpoint all the times I felt really hopeless, but then, I'd remember to turn to God and ask him to help me. It wouldn't make all the troubles go away, but I felt better knowing that God's always there for me, no matter what. And I think my faith really got a lot stronger over the summer, through being on the softball team and being in orchestra. Doing these just helped me realize even more how important being a Christian is to me, and that led me to wanting to be baptized. |
