The undersigned committee will administer the rules of the Golf League. All questions concerning the rules will be referred to a Board consisting of the following League members Chris Bordiuk, Bill Connolly, Chaon Garland, Bill Hoernlein, Rick Moots and Jim Moran. A majority ruling of this Board will be final.

General:

    1. League will start April 8th; the first two weeks (April 8th and April 15th) of scores will be to establish your handicap. If you cannot make the first two weeks, your handicap will be established by your first two rounds played.
    2. All players must be sign-in and pay at the Pro Shop.
    3. You must play with at least with one other league member at the Raritan Landing Golf Course on Monday evenings. No individual scorecards will be counted. All players in a group must sign card to be counted.
    4. Makeups are allowed as long as you play with another league member to corroborate your score. The accompanying league member must initial scorecards; score will not count if not initialed. If time is available on Monday evening’s, makeups are allowed after you have completed your round on any Monday evening. Your makeup round can been completed on either the front or back nine. All makeups must be made up by July 16th.
    5. The 2002 USGA Rules of Golf for Stroke Play will apply except as noted in the paragraph listing "LOCAL RULES".
    6. This is an individual scoring league, but you must play with another member of the league for your score to count. Each scorecard will be signed by those who are in the group that you’re playing with. A recommended foursome list will be published, so that different players play with different people each week.
    7. Your top 8 individual week point totals will count. You have 14 weeks, from April 22 to July 22, to get your 8 weeks in.
    8. Since there is 14 weeks to get in 8 scores in, weather should not be an issue. If you want to play in the rain, it will be left up to the individual.
    9. Scorecards should be dropped in the folder labeled "JJHCS Monday Night League" on the bulletin board inside the vestibule, in between the pro shop and Mama’s Grill after your round is complete.

Handicap:

    1. The league will use a 90 percent handicap system, this is done give everyone a shot at scoring a fair number of points each week. Your handicap will be determined as follows: Total score for a round, less 29 (regulation score for 9 holes at Raritan Landings) multiplied by 90 percent.

Example: You shoot a 42, minus 29 is 13 multiplied by 90 % equals 11.7 or 12. Your handicap for that week would be 12.

This would be added with all your other previous weeks handicaps and

divided by the number of weeks to establish your new handicap which

would be used to calculate your next rounds point total.

Example: Your first five weeks handicaps are 12+12+13+14+13=64 then it would be divided by 5, that would equal 12.8 or 13. Then 13 would be used to calculate your next rounds point total.

    1. The maximum number on each hole should be double par, plus one. This means that if your playing on a PAR 3, after your seventh stroke you should pick up and write a seven down on the scorecard for the hole your playing. Equally, if your playing a PAR 4, after your ninth stroke you should pick up and write a nine on the scorecard for the hole your playing. This is done to speed play.
    2. Handicaps will be established the first two weeks of the league; April 8th and April 15th.
    3. If for some reason you are unable to play the first two weeks, your handicap will be established the first two rounds you play.
    4. Your handicap will be recalculated on a weekly basis and be used to calculate the next round’s points.

If after the second drop, the ball comes to rest closer to the hole, the player will place the ball as close as possible to its original lie.
