Reiki (the Japanese word for Universal Life Energy) is a simple "touch healing" technique which transfers vital energy through the "giver" (Reiki Practitioner), to the "receiver" (client).

Reiki promotes relaxation and a sense of well being. It offers us a very special way to relax and let go. It relieves tension, stress, pain and confusion.

As energy flows, it helps to eliminate toxins from the body, revitalizes the immune system and re-energizes and increases one's vitality. We transform, grow and change on a personal level. THERE ARE NO LIMITS TO THE POSITIVE USES AND RESULTS OF REIKI.

Reiki works on many different levels - mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. The Universal Life Energy will flow to the place or level where it is most needed. Whilst being used to treat a wide range of ailments, it brings extraordinary changes into people's lives.

Although Reiki is not a cure or "quick fix" for dis-ease, Reiki does speed up the body's own healing mechanisms. Reiki goes beyond the symptoms of the dis-ease to the source, clarifying the cause and then relieving the symptoms at the same time.

Comforting, gentle and balancing, Reiki is wonderful to incorporate into your life, either as the "giver" or as the "receiver". Remember, as the "giver", each time you give a Reiki treatment, you receive a Reiki treatment, since the energy flows through you to the client. It is a truly awesome and beautiful experience that needs to be experienced in order to appreciate its effectiveness and simplicity.

While Reiki Practitioners and Masters prefer holistic healing methods, we will never advise you to discontinue seeing your general medical practitioner, or to stop taking any medication which you may be taking. In fact, quite the opposite. Reiki is a complementary therapy that works well with all other treatments.

NB. A Reiki Practitioner, or even a Reiki Master is not qualified to make any diagnosis, or to prescribe any scheduled medications.

What makes Reiki different from other forms of touch healing is that in order to become a channel for Universal Life Energy, one must be "attuned" by a Reiki Master. The attunement creates an open channel for energy to flow to wherever it is most needed. Also, the attunement makes it so that no matter who you are working with, you will seldom, if ever, pick up either the dis-ease or the negative energy of the client, as can often happy with the various touch therapies. The attunement protects you from other people's energies. (More about this in the workshop)

While Reiki is generally divided into 3 degrees, or levels, you may become a Reiki Practitioner from the first degree (first attunement). Being a Reiki Practitioner means that you can heal yourself, your family and friends, your pets and plants, the environment and the wider community with Reiki. The second degree attunement entitles you to receive sacred symbols which strengthen your connection with the Universal Life Energy and deals with distant healing, and the third degree is Mastership, which involves dedicating your life to Reiki, to treating and teaching people.

Reiki works well with all other forms of treatment. Massage therapists can combine Reiki with their normal routine to achieve highly beneficial results. Reflexologists, aromatherapists, energy / light / body workers, nurses, holistic physicians, even veterinarians and animal service providers will benefit, as will their clients. In fact, everyone can benefit from Reiki.

All that is required is the willingness to reconnect with the Universal Life Force Energy and to allow Reiki to flow through you, you life and the lives of others. Children have a very natural attraction to Reiki and seem to understand so easily. We therefore do accept children for 1st degree and 2nd degree courses. No skills or talents or previous studies are required! Each one of us has the natural ability to heal.

There is one Supreme Being, Great Spirit, Life Energy, whom we as humans give our own persona. Reiki practitioners and Masters accept the various forms, the origins, and the beliefs, for the essence of practicing Reiki is borne through goodness, honesty and gratitude with respect and humility. Reiki is a gift from the Universe to all humanity, all people of all backgrounds and all creeds.

The participation in a Reiki Workshop always means an enormous leap forward in your personal development. The attunements, and working extensively with Universal Life Energy, will open new opportunities of experience for you and give you better access to the loving, living portions of your personality. Dormant talents can be activated and abilities that you already have can be expanded. You alone can decide how profound this gentle process of evolution will be for you.

In the days before the course, take some time for yourself. Question your own expectations of your life, your goals and aspirations. Do you desire more love and fulfillment in your relationships? Would you like to improve your working relations, and work environment? Do you need to target health problems, etc.? Whatever it may be, whether on a mental, physical, emotional or spiritual level, the energy of the attunements and Reiki sessions during the workshop can introduce positive developments in all aspects important for you.

Avoid any strenuous activities during the workshop time. Permit yourself to be there for yourself. The attunements can trigger deep processes of becoming conscious and it is good to have the time to also work through these processes. You may come into an intensive contact with yourself - take advantage of this opportunity! You should also avoid alcohol during the seminar time. Alcohol decreases the ability to perceive and consciously experience the changes within you.

Expect everything and nothing! Make yourself free for everything that will happen. Don't subject yourself to any limitations for your growth. Open the door of your consciousness for the wishes concealed deep within your heart to come forward and manifest in your life.

Depending on the time and size of the workshop, you may be asked to bring your own packed lunch, or a plate of food, i.e. salad or soup, depending on the weather.

One liter of mineral water, or more, if you normally drink a lot.

Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided.

Reiki courses are held in groups or on an individual basis

1ST DEGREE = $150

2ND DEGREE = $250

1 - 4 people = 2 x four hour sessions, preferably on two consecutive days.

5 - 10 people = two full day sessions,

SCHOLARS pay half price in group sessions only.

Certificates are awarded at the end of the course.

Each student will receive printed notes with the course content, and related information.

REIKI MASTERS QUALIFICATION is a private and intense course. Please contact me for further information.

A Reiki treatment takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. The client and Reiki Practitioner will both remain fully clothed. You may be asked, as the client, to remove your belt, jewelry or other constrictive items of clothing purely for the sake of comfort and to facilitate the flow of energy.

As you lay on the Reiki/Massage bed, the Reiki practitioner will place her hands in specific positions on your body. You may feel sensations of warmth and tingling. The treatment is extremely relaxing, and many people tend to fall asleep. Afterwards, you feel refreshed, and more in control of your life, your emotions, and your health.

Other sessions may involve the client sitting in a chair, while the same (or similar) hand movements are made.

Generally though, you can expect to relax in a horizontal position on the Reiki Bed.
