Applied ICT @ Norlington School
This web site contains general information about the double GCSE Applied ICT course offered at Norlington School along with course specific information and links to assist students who are currently taking the course.

According to OCR's web site, Studying ICT in a vocational context helps prepare candidates for a world increasingly dominated by the use of ICT systems, which influence every aspect of everyday life.

This qualification consists of three mandatory units, each of which is equally weighted. Assessment is based on both portfolios of evidence from assignments set and assessed by Centres and moderated by OCR and an external test of 1 ½ hours, set and marked by OCR. Units 2 and 3 are portfolio units and Unit 1 is externally assessed. The scheme of assessment consists of one tier covering the whole of the ability range, grades GG to A*A*.

IF you choose to take Applied ICT at Norlington School, you are choosing the SINGLE ICT option.  In year 10, this course meets three class periods per week.  In year 11, the course meets two class periods per week.  Currently, Mrs. Joulani heads up this class, so see her if you have questions.
