In High School, at Campus, even at your local church, it's happening... The Sects of Satan by Clarah Hallstein Chapter One In a tiny cell a little girl is weeping. In the corner of her eye she can see the snake-thing approaching. "Come now, child, give me the names," it hisses, "only the names...". Such was its request for the past two days now. She's hungry, but these people won't give her anything 'till she gives them those names. But she knew she daren't. Too many lives are at stake - she cannot give in, not yet. Suddenly the hissing stops, and the creature disappears. The cell door creaks, and opens to reveal the face of terror. "Come," the woman says bluntly, and she turns to go. The little girl, though weak and sore, rises to the command and follows the woman outside, through the corridor into a big room. In the centre of the room is a small table, at which sits the man with the scar. When they enter, he stands up for them. The woman roughly leads her to a chair at the table. For the first time she sees the plate, covered by another plate so that the airoma of steaming meat and vegetables stays. The man lifts the top plate, and smiles broadly when he sees the girl's reaction. "Food...!" she manages to get out, and grabs at it. The man stops her arms short of the plate. "First the names, only the names," he says. The little girl looks hungrily at the plate. The desire to quit is almost unbearable. Dare she betray her companions? But then her subconscience takes over. " Liz du Plooy, Lentz Larry and Vivienne Merce," she whispers faintly, and takes the food. "Good work, Hallstein," the woman remarks, as she leaves the room. "I trust you will find these traitors before it's too late". "Yes, ma'am," Hallstein sighs as he takes out the ceremonial dagger, and thrusts it into the young girl's throat... Chapter Two As the sun was setting over the Parov Valley, the light grew dim and evening settled in. If it weren't for the deep hole he was in, he could have enjoyed this beautiful dayfall. 'Pity me,' he thought by himself, 'I should never have gone out of the movement.' He had been hanging there upside-down for nearly seven hours, and the worst was yet to come. If only little Lalla didn't tell. She was the only one who knew. He heard footsteps, and a voice called from above. "Hey Lentz, how you doin' man?" It was a female voice, probably Winnie's. His former girlfriend, Lentz couldn't believe that she would do this to him. "I brought you a present!" A shower of human left-overs came showering from above onto Lentz. A line of shock ran down his spine as he realizes : this is probably Lalla's remains. He felt like throwing up. He knew no matter what he told or gave them, they wouldn't let him out of the hole yet. They were trying to get him totally submissive to their command - something which could prove disasterous for The Informatique. Lentz knew that all too well.
