My Family

What can one say about their family that hasn't been said? Although, I am not sure of the answer to that question, I hope that you will enjoy getting to know my family a bit.

My husband, Eddie, was raised in the country. I was raised in the city. Due to the difference in lifestyles, we have had a lot of adjusting to do. We are, of course, living in the country. This has been quite a bit of a change from what my sons and I had been used to, but I am beginning to love where we are now, after a long time of hating it. Quite a change there!

We are going through a lot of changes right now. The salon that I was working in has closed. After trying to work in another salon, it soon became apparent that I was not meant to continue with what I had been doing. My mother became very ill on Christmas Day, almost dying. I was let go from this other job soon after as I had to take a lot of time off to be available to sit with my mother. This was not looked on as a bad thing. My husband and I saw this as the opportunity for change.

We are a homeschooling family. My husband was spending more time than I on the lessons, with me doing the lesson planning. This worked at the start, but as my working hours increased, the structure of the schooling fell apart. This led to the boys falling behind in their studies. We are hoping to revamp the homeschooling sessions to enable the boys to get caught up a bit to where they should be. In the last few months, the boys have taken full advantage of my working long hours and were very lax in getting things done.

In 2007, both my husband and my youngest son were baptized in the Baptist faith. I had been raising my boys Catholic, although I am Baptist. I was eventually very disillusioned in the Catholic church and decided to take the boys to a different church. My husband was saved in the first week of the change! After, Peter decided to also make a change and was baptized on February 17, 2008, the day after he turned 13. Turning things over to the Lord have really been working. He has opened many doors that were once closed to us. It is amazing to see the little blessings we have been given each day.

Here we are!
