There are over 80,000 dogs, 70,000 cats, 500 horses and many other animals who have been rescued in this country and looking for a loving home. Maybe you or someone you know can offer a good home or a place to stay until a good home can be found. Others animals need help in order to be able to get the medical assistance they need to even have a chance at life. Only Pooh would like to help potential friends find each other by sponsoring Petfinder and the local rescue organizations around the country that try to give these animals a second chance. Petfinder offers a search engine listing rescue locations around the country making it possible to find that perfect friend. So no matter if it's a mature friend that just wants to veg out and watch the tube with you or an energetic spitfire ready to tackle the next adventure Petfinder can locate the perfect friend for you. If you would like to make a donation to a rescue team around your area that's possible too. Just enter your zip code and do a regional search, that will list all locations within a 150 mile radius, click on the organization of your choice and contact them by e-mail. Please remember, a pet is for life, they suffer emotional trauma and pain just as much as we do caused by abandonment, abuse and neglect. Aso be sure and "alter" your pet, don't add to this growing problem. You will notice I have added another link below. Paws is an organization who adopt shelter dogs and raise others to learn to assit handicapped people, check them out!

MAVIS  is just too sweet, loves to play and romp, has no fear of the bigger kids - she is really a special little girl. Mavis is 9-10 weeks old.

INITIAL PROGNOSIS: Patent Ductus Arteriosis

UPDATE October 15th Mavis' surgery is successful!!

Mavis was one of many needy animals that would have died
if not for donations that made it possible for her to get the
care she needed.

My name is Sophia. I am eight weeks old and ready to go to my "forever" home. I am litter trained, started on my kitten shots and tested negative for FeLV-FIV.

Sunny was rescued from a shelter in Florida. She is calm, disciplined, and eager to please. I have no Idea why anyone gave him up but I sure am happy they did! The best thing about having Sunny is that when I take him places, he is the star. No one pays attention to me anymore. I like it when I hear a child say "Mom! Look at that doggy!" instead of pointing at me. I love to tell people about Sunny and how he has changed my life. I am so thankful for all the people and trainers at PAWS who found Sunny. Sunny is truly one in a million.
