Biographies

Michele Campbell began Meaningful Movements 15 years ago.  She has over 20 years of experience teaching all levels of abilities ranging in age from 3 to adult. Michele is a New Jersey certified teacher who also holds a national certification in Adapted Physical Education. She also holds an associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.  Michele received behavior management training through the State Department of Education. The Gentle Teaching style has proven effective with many of her students. Prior to starting Meaningful Movements, Michele was a group home manager and IHP coordinator for a residential facility. She has worked in private and public schools.  In addition, Michele has worked as a consultant and has presented workshops for parents and professionals.  Her philosophy:  " You never know what you can do until you try".

Marie Nordyke is a registered nurse currently working at an elementary school. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education as well as an Associate’s degree in Nursing. She has previously taught in the Physical Education/Recreation field. Marie has received behavior management training through the “Natural Setting Therapeutic Management” program sponsored by Rutgers University. She co-manages a Special Olympics bowling league for youths and adults. Marie has been working with Meaningful Movements for ten years. She is the choreographer for the Dance Company whose philosophy is to Entertain, Educate, Encourage. Under Marie's leadership, the company has performed throughout the east coast. The company also makes visits to hospital, rehabilitation centers and schools where their performances encourage and inspire the audience. Marie is the proud parent of two Meaningful Movements alumni.

Michelle Tompkins graduated from William Paterson University's Special Education program; and was a member of two Honor Societies. Michelle is a New Jersey certified Teacher of the Handicapped. She teaches at Palisades Park Jr/Sr High School, grades 7 -12 in the Resource Room. Michelle works with the Inclusion team at the high school to help her students reach their highest potential. In addition to her teaching duties, Michelle is the Advisor to the Honor Society, the Peer Tutoring Program and chaperone's school proms! Michelle has worked with Meaningful Movements for six years; and has spent the last three summers working for the Forum School.
