Mangerton Ranger Guides

Most of our activities are combined with the Ranger Guide unit. See some photos

Ranger Guides is for girls aged between 14 and 18. I can speak from experience when I say that being part of the unit is a lot of fun.

Ranger Guides run their own meetings, decide what activities they want to do, and are responsible for organising them.
The unit has a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and other office bearers, which enables the unit to function smoothly (more or less).
There is a leader for this lot of ragamuffins, affectionately referred to as 'Tich' (she's not exactly tall). Titch is responsible for the paperwork, money, and keeping the girls on the straight and narrow.

As I said before, Ark Royal and Mangerton have a lot of combined activities.
They helped to paint the interior of the Ranger Den at our local campsite, joined us for duty at Tingira.
And to tell the truth, we can't be bothered to run our own meetings so we generally go along to the Ranger Guide meetings and join in the fun.

Recent weekly activities have included:

Aquarobics (which is harder than it looks)
Unimovies (watching "The Matrix" at Wollongong Unit)
A Hike with 2nd Woonona Brownies (I won't mention who got lost, but it wasn't the Brownies)
Cooking (I missed this night, but apparantly the nachos was delicious)
A games night (It's amazing how competetive you can get playing Trivial Pursuit)
The Blood Bank ('once-a-term' service)

These photos are of a night held last year based on a winter theme. Activities included, ice hockey/soccer (played with a puck/ball of solid ice), a snowball fight, and eating icecream. Some of these were used when they held a Guides night later on in the term, to help get more older guides joining the unit.
