Influences
What we listen to, what we don't, what inspires us. We tell you what to think, so you don't have to!
Comrade Red: Basically i'm the predominantly US Punk Rock influenced band member. Favourite records of all time have got to be White Heat White Light White Trash by Social Distortion, because Mike Ness is kind of a hero figure to me, The Dwarves Blood Guts and Pussy, which is 18 minutes of pure sex violence and speed punk, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables by Dead Kennedys, because it's just great and No Control by Bad Religion, it's fast, melodic and poetic.

Great bands out there include (as well as those mentioned above, who, to be honest have consistantly good albums) include Rage Against the Machine, NOFX, New Bomb Turks, MXPX, Lard, Zeke, Raised Fist, The Ramones, Pennywise, The Cardigans, Muse, F-Minus, Rancid, Spineshank, Feeder, Ash. I'm sure theres more but you don't care.

If you listen to tracks like
Nine, you'll definitely hear The Ramones in there, and tracks like EVOL you'll hear Bob Dylan and Mike Ness creeping in. Bad Religion and Dead Kennedys are certainly influences when I think about lyrics.

We have friends y'know
Theres a whole heap of good local bands that we like. Being people that like to promote the creation of music and the sustaining of the underground music scene that spawns so much good (often unrecognized) music. If you give a damn about music at all you should check these guys out. You'll be pleasantly surprised i'm sure.

SkunKmonkey:
My influences...where to start? I dig lots of music but i feel really inspired by the work of Radiohead above all others.I would list The Bends as the greatest album of all time from  a guitarist POV, and Ok Computer as a songwriter (aspiring that is). Jeff Buckley is great too (maybe Placebo in a songwriting sense, who knows?), to name but a very few. In a punk/rock context i guess The Ramones, Queens of The Stoneage, Nirvana, At The Drive In and RATM give us all alot of joy.
What i write can differ a fair bit from what Comrade Writes. Maybe this comes from listening to Hip Hop and some Dance aswell.
I think im done with this interview
Miles:
Main influences/bands i want us to sound like would be Pixies, Sonic Youth and Pavement. In a drumming sense (and of course if i could play well) id want to sound like The Clash, or in our slower songs, the Violent Femmes. If we had several synths, a second basssist and keyboards id like us to sound like The Faint too. And if we could write hundreds of almost identical but brilliant 2 minute punk songs, The Ramones, which is the most fun direction, so we should probably do that. Imagine Ramones with less competent drumming and more than 3 chords, and hopefully you're almost there
The best punk albums ever are London Calling by the Clash and Rocket to Russia by the Ramones. otherwise The Stone Roses or XTRMNTR by Primal Scream (ill change my mind in about half an hour)

The Legends Begin Recording
After a very turbulent few days, with the collection of A-levels, trying to sort our gig out, and recently losing our singer to the forces of capitalism, the band are refreshed and kicking ass. The good news for you Stutter slaves out there however is not only the soon to be amazing gig being held on the first at the forum (goto the gigs page for more information), but also we have just completed our first set of recording. As some of you more addicted to our rock and roll ways will realise, this is our third stab at recording, the first two being done by Tom Smith and Nick Nooneremembershisname. This time behind the big red button with "record" written on it, is the legendary Joe Sharp of Token Ray Gun Dept. His skills have ensured we are getting the sound we want from our sessions, and his enthusiasm for our sound has pushed the boundaries of what we thought we could do. Recording has been postponed due to the upcoming gig, and Reading festival being attended, but we re-start in September, and with two songs in the bag already the release of the ep is within grasp. Keep an eye out for mp3's soon to be put on the site.
"Split Disc" Limited Pressing Goes on Sale at Poundfest
"Split Disc" an idea conjured up by the dark minds of members of Token Ray Gun Dept, and Stutter is available to buy at Poundfest. All bands playing with the exception of Prints in the Sand have contributed to the compilation, and it will go on sale at a measley £2.00. Half an hour of music, 8 tracks, 5 great bands. The compilation features classics from Dysuria such as Spontaneous, the mighty This One by Widow, and our very own DWD. Each front cover of the first pressing of 50 is hand drawn by members of Stutter and is numbered (for all you rare collector's out there), so buy them quick. Many thanks go out to all the bands who made this possible, and as for the reason the awesome Prints in the Sand were not included..... When interviewed the illustrious Wilf said only this "I don't want to be on your stinking compilation, you capitalist scumbags, who the fuck do you think you are anyway? And get a haircut." Quite...... Anyway buy buy buy consume obey conform.
An update of the below message. At the gig we sold out of cd's excelletn huh? In your face hardy! Whoever you are........
