~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shocking Revelations Far From Home #1 By Julia Kirby and Jane Griffen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jane’s Note: This is what would happen if *I* (along w/ Julia) showed up on Voyager. Needless to say, it would be a lot of fun :) This is dedicated to Julia...No, Ana! You can't dedicate it to me! I'm dedicating it to you! But yeah, the Air and Space Museum in downtown D.C. rocks! (there's this big sign that says Voyager on it! ;) Anyway, enjoy reading! Oh, and if anybody writes feedback to me and calls me "Janey", I'm gonna throw a marshmellow at you! Julia’s Note: First, I'd like to dedicate this to Jane, my partner in crime! And I have to thank the Air and Space Museum, cuz that's where Jane and I thought this up. And I have to thank all the Voyager cash and crew, and umm... Oh! I had a blast writing this! Disclaimers: Julia owns the properties of Juliana Ferguson, Jane own the properties of Jane Griffen, Juliana and Jane created Star Trek: Monopoly (only Jane found out later that there actuall IS a Star Trek: The Next Generation Monopoly, so she can't really write that in anyway), Jane owns the properties of Lieutenant Heather Whitney, Jane and Juliana own the story, and Paramount owns everything else! (Julia: Are you done yet? [Jane puts the microphone down] Jane: Yeah, I'm done! *grins*) Far From Home #2 (concerning episodes: The Gift, Day of Honor, and Nemesis) is currently in progress!!! Feedback is welcome at JaneG100@rocketmail.com (Jane's e-mail) and artemis_moon@geocities.com (Julia's e-mail)! =) ***** Juliana Ferguson stared across at her opponent on Star Trek: Monopoly, Jane Griffen. Jane met her gaze and rolled the dice, moving the USS Enterprise-D forward nine spaces. She landed on Deep Space Nine: Promenade. "Ha!" Juliana crowed. "Pay up! I want latinum and I want it now!" "How many bars?" "Three." "Three?!" Jane exclaimed but handed over the three bars of latinum. "Okay, my turn." Juliana picked up the dice and rolled. Six. She scooted the Borg Cube closer to Go To the Brig, landing on Borg: Assimilation Chamber. "Yay! I got the Borg: Assimilation Chamber." Both stopped and froze. "Did you hear that?" Jane asked her. Juliana didn't reply. "Juliana? Hello?" She looked down at Juliana's hands. They were shaking and she was looking past Jane, terrified. Jane looked cautiously behind her and screamed. They weren't in Juliana's family room anymore. The buzz of the computer was gone and the comfortable couches they had been sitting on were gone as well. The game was gone. They were surrounded by metal. Hard, cold metal. There was an eerie silence and a dash of a red laser. Jane screeched and jumped behind Juliana as a Borg, a real, live, flesh, half mechanical drone stepped towards them. Jane screamed again and clutched Juliana's arm. "You will be assimilated. Resistance is Futile." It said. Juliana looked around wildly and then decided on her options, bringing her foot up and it made contact with the Borg's stomach. The drone lurched back and she was on it, clawing and yanking any gadget she could. She heard a scream from behind her. "LET GO OF ME, YOU ROBOTIC CREEPS!" She slapped the Borg once more in the face and whirled around to see three more drones pulling Jane towards a section of corridor. "Jane! Let her go!" Juliana yanked a cord connecting one's eye piece and his brain. It clicked off. "I've always wanted to do this!" She said coldly and kicked the drone squarely where it counted. Jane backhanded one drone and dashed into a corner as Juliana finished off the last two drones. Wires and metal gadgets lay everywhere. She was pulled back by a firm hand. "You will obey." A cold, female voice said. Juliana screamed. Jane was brought forward to stand next to her and Juliana fought off the female's hand to stand. Jane cowered behind her again, holding onto a part of her shirt, sweat glistening on her forehead. "Seven of Nine!" Another female raced towards them. "Seven of Nine!" The woman was only about an inch taller then Juliana. She looked at her in shock. "Kate Mulgrew, I mean, Captain Janeway?" Janeway stood between Seven of Nine and Juliana and Jane. She quickly took off her comm-badge and yelled for Tuvok. He appeared a second later. "Janeway to Voyager." "Voyager here." "Lock onto my comm-badge and beam two teenage females to Voyager. Now!" Juliana fainted as she was transported away, Jane still holding tightly to her, scared out of her mind. ***** Jane gulped as she was transported off of wherever she had been. Whatever was happening to her, she felt oddly calm. Soon, the blue mists stopped swirling around her and she found herself standing in a large room that looked suspiciously like Sick Bay in her favorite television show: namely Star Trek: Voyager. A man, partly bald, walked up to her, a confused look on his face. A blonde-haired woman with elfish ears walked cautiously behind him, giving her and Juliana a surprised glance. Jane, realizing that Juliana had fainted, smacked her. Hard. "Stop that!" Juliana exclaimed. "I'm awake, I'm-" She gaped as she spotted the other two people. "Oh, my God!" "Who are you and what were you doing on a Borg cube?" the man asked. Jane looked at Juliana, who shrugged. She didn't care where she was, as long as it wasn't on a Borg cube about to be assimilated. "I'm Juliana and this is Jane." she said. "So, are you Robert Picardo?" "Hi, Jennifer!" Jane added to the woman, smiling innocently. She backed away as the man came forward, holding an instrument. Then, realizing it resembled a tricorder, stopped. "Robert Picardo?" the Doctor muttered as he scanned Juliana with a tricorder. The woman did the same with Jane, who watched her timidly. "Who's he?" "Ya know, the Doc on Voyager?" Juliana replied, giving the man a strange look. She *still* didn't get what had just happened. *I am NEVER going to play Star Trek Monopoly again!* "I'm afraid I-" he stopped. "Doctor on Voyager?" "Yes, and you're Jennifer!" Jane told the blonde-haired woman. "Who's Jennifer?" she asked. "Please, sit down on the-" "Bio bed?" Jane finished, then hopped onto it. Juliana sat on the one next to Jane. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Kes shared a glance. Jane glanced over and shivered at the sight of the man who looked strangely like Garret Wang. Ensign Kim? she thought. This is *too* strange! Refreshing her memory, she remembered that he had been infected by Species 8-4-7-2 in the episode "Scorpion". "Anyway, you're Jennifer. As in Jennifer Lien, as in Kes, as in Star Trek: Voyager, as in a 20th century TV show?" Jane replied calmly. "I'm Kes, and I have no idea what you're talking about. Who are you?" Kes replied. The Doctor finished healing the cuts Juliana had acquired while ripping up the Borg drones. "There, you're as good as new." He then contacted a "Lieutenant Paris" and requested him to come down to "Sick Bay." Juliana still couldn't believe they were actually onboard Voyager. "I'm Juliana Ferguson, and that's Jane Griffen." said Juliana, pointing at her friend. "And we have *no* idea how we got here." "Yeah," Jane piped up. "And I swear, I am *NEVER* playing a board game again!" Juliana grinned. Kes nodded slowly and went to confer with the Doctor. "What did your tricorder readings show?" Kes asked. "That they are both humans and both 13 years old. From their clothing I can only guess that they *do* come from the 20th century." Kes raised an eyebrow and scrutinized the two girls, who were gazing around. Just then, a man who remarkably resembled Robert McNeil walked in. Seeing the two girls, he nearly did a doubletake. He shook his head. "Who're they?" he asked the Doctor and Kes quietly. "They say they're Juliana Ferguson and Jane Green." Kes replied. "They mentioned something about a 20th century 'TV' show. Star Trek Voyager?" The look on Tom's face was blank. "Why don't you talk to them, Mister Paris, since you're well versed in their century." The Doctor glanced over at the two girls. Their heads were bent and they were talking quickly in hushed tones. "O-Kay, Doc." Tom replied, then went over to the two girls on the bio beds. "Hello, I'm-" "Let me guess. You think you're Tom Paris, right?" Jane asked in her best sarcastic tone, smiling up at the man. She didn't understand anything, so she wasn't going to try. "Be nice! He's so much more handsome in person!" Juliana hissed at her. Jane just rolled her eyes. "Don't let 'Lanna hear that!" she shot back, grinning and winking at her friend. "Been in any Angola habitats lately?" From the look on Tom's face, Juliana could tell that he was shocked. "Don't mind her. She's not all here." Jane kicked her firmly in the shins, then turned back to the gaping pilot. "Sorry, it's just that I'm a P/Ter, and this is all kind of strange." "A what?" "Ya know, a P/Ter. People who-" This time it was Juliana who kicked Jane. "Shut up!" Juliana hissed. She couldn't believe her friend. Jane was talking off to Lieutenant Paris!? Jane shut up. The Doctor went back over to them. "Commander Chakotay got a transmission from Captain Janeway a few minutes ago. She says that you two are not to be harmed and to be treated nicely. Apparently one of you guessed who she was, and she was shocked. Now, since I must get back to the nanoprobes experiment, you two are free to leave. Lieutenant Paris, Commander Chakotay informed me that you are to show them around Voyager. Although I doubt that they don't know their way around already." he said dryly. "Welcome to Voyager." Kes said, smiling. Then she frowned, glancing at Harry Kim. Tom followed her gaze and frowned as well. "So, where would you like to go?" Tom asked, smiling at Juliana but looking puzzledly at Jane. To his surprise, Jane winked at Juliana, grinning. In unison, they replied, "Engineering!" ***** B'Elanna sighed and looked up to see Tom entering Engineering, followed by two teenage girls. They were about the same height, one with long blond hair and the other with brown hair pulled back into a pony tail. Both looked around as if they had been there before. Tom grinned at B'Elanna. "Working a bit late, aren't you, Torres?" He asked, and both of the girls giggled. The brown haired jabbed the other one in the ribs. B'Elanna glared at the girls. "Who are they and what are they doing here in Engineering?" She said irritably. "Now really, that's not anyway to treat our guests. The captain found them on the Borg Cube, about to be assimilated. From their clothes, they are from the 20th century." B'Elanna studied them. The blond wore tight fitting white jeans. She turned around to inspect a console and B'Elanna could see a large CK on the back of the Jean pocket. Her shirt was a solid color of blue with a large white stripe going across in the middle of the shirt. It was a baby tank top and her hair was loose, it fell to about three inches below her shoulders. The brown haired one was wearing shorts, and had on what B'Elanna thought were glasses. Her shirt was large with a horse dashing across of it, the horse was a reddish color with a blaze. Tom motioned the girls to come forward. "B'Elanna, this is Jane," He motioned towards the brown headed girl, "And Juliana." He motioned towards the blonde. "And you probably know who this is--" "B'Elanna Torres, duh!" Juliana remarked. She turned to Jane. "We'd better do something about that horrible overcoat TPTB gave her!" "What?" B'Elanna asked them. Jane grinned. "Nothing. Could we look around?" B'Elanna stepped back from her console. "Sure." Jane looked at the array of buttons and then ducked under to gently place her hand on the antimatter containment chamber. She squatted down and looked at a bunch of buttons. "What's this do?" She asked, pointing to a red button. "Don't touch that!" B'Elanna yelled, ducking under just as Jane pushed the button. "Warp core overload in ten seconds. Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five." B'Elanna scurried over to her console and her fingers flew over the console. A second later, there was a shudder and then the lights returned to normal. Tom grinned. "They sure know their way around, don't they?" B'Elanna glared at him. Both turned around to see Juliana and Jane in a hushed Conversation. "But didn't Species 8472 almost destroy them?!" Jane demanded louder. "Shhh!" Juliana glared at her friend. "They don't know that! Remember, Seven comes on! And then Kes leaves!" "But what about now? They think Harry's going to die!" "He does die!" "No, he doesn't!" "Oh, that's right. He's too cute to die!" It was Jane's turn to glare. Tom exchanged a look of pure shock at B'Elanna. "Uhh, girls, do you know something about what's going on?" he asked. Juliana elbowed Jane, and said in a whisper. "Don't say anything." "I think you should." B'Elanna said. "What happens?" "We can't tell you!" Juliana exclaimed. She sighed. "Can we talk somewhere?" Tom made eye contact with B'Elanna and she briefly nodded. "We'll go to the bridge." The two headed out of Engineering, Juliana and Jane close behind. "We have to assume that the vessel hasn't attacked yet and the Borg Cube wasn't destroyed." "We were on it, of course it wasn't destroyed." Jane said crossly. This whole thing was giving her a headache, as much as she loved almost blowing up Voyager. Tom pressed the control for the turbolift and B'Elanna crossed her arms firmly. She looked at the ceiling, at Jane and Juliana, anywhere but Tom's haunting blue gaze. He smiled and shook with silent laughter. "What?!" She demanded but let it drop as the turbolift arrived and the four boarded. Juliana felt as if she had to throw up as the turbolift accelerated downward, and then what seemed forward. They went up for a short few seconds and stopped, depositing them on the bridge. It was identical to the pictures both had seen. The forward view screen was massive. The Borg Cube matched Voyager's course, they could hardly see it, it was way off to the left of the screen. Juliana and Jane ignored the looked they received and both put their hands on the forward rail, staring around, transfixed. B'Elanna sat down at the Engineering console and Jane watched as Tom sat down at the helm. Chakotay turned around. "Welcome to the bridge." he said simply as Juliana stepped down the few stairs to the lower level. He waved to the second command chair. "Sit, please." Juliana carefully sat down and felt how comfortable it was. She made herself comfortable and crossed her legs at the ankle. Jane sat down next to her on the narrow bar. Before Chakotay could say anything, the turbolift doors whooshed open and Harry came walking in, same as he always had been. Greetings went around and Juliana heard B'Elanna say, "You still have a tendril up your nose." Chakotay grinned and turned back to them. "Tom tells me you know something about what's going on. Please, enlighten me." Juliana looked at Jane but she was looking around the bridge. "Well... Species 8472 is attacking the Borg. Janeway made an alliance with the Borg, and lucky for you, you didn't have to wait three months to see what happened!" "Could you explain how you know about us?" "Okay... in our universe, I guess, Voyager is a TV show. You experienced TV when you were in the 1990's. Its a weekly TV show, and 'Star Trek' is a world wide, how could you put it, phenomena? They even have a Star Trek Monopoly. That's what Jane and I were playing. I had just landed on Borg: Assimilation Chamber, and then we were there." "I don't suppose you could tell us what happens next." Juliana looked at Jane who had been listening to her explain. She shook her head. "No, it could disrupt your time line. We don't know if its still gonna happen because we're here." "Remain neutral, do not say anything about the future to anyone, that is a direct order. We'll have to accept that there is no way home for you two. I'm certainly not going back on that Borg Cube to see." "Commander! I'm picking up gravimetric distortions." Tom reported from the helm. He paused as Chakotay came to his side. "It's a singularity. They're charging weapons!" "Shields!" Chakotay barked out. "Keep a lock on the away team!" Voyager was hit. It looked to be a small shudder on TV but Jane was almost thrown from the platform. Juliana gripped at the chair with both hands, her knuckles turning white. "Direct hit to our secondary hull." B'Elanna reported from the Engineering console. "Transporters are off line. Shields and weapons are down." "We're being targeted!" Tom said quickly, trying to maneuver Voyager out of range. "Brace for impact." Chakotay said and Jane through herself into the command chair just as they were hit. "The Cube?" "Destroyed." Tom reported. "And it took the bio ship with it." A young female quickly came forward when Chakotay summoned her. She turned to Juliana and Jane. "This is all exciting, but you really shouldn't be on the bridge during a battle. Please, come with me." Chakotay turned around. "Get something to eat, and Ensign, the captain has assigned quarters for them on Deck 7." "Yes, sir." ***** Ensign Alexandra Roshardo walked down the corridor of Deck 8. Jane and Juliana followed quietly, conversing. "But how'd we get here?" Jane demanded. "How am I supposed to know?" Juliana hissed, lowering her voice so Roshardo wouldn't hear her. Jane just rolled her eyes. "What's your name? What department do you work under?" Juliana asked the brunette ensign. "I'm Ensign Alexandra Roshardo, and I'm from security." Alexandra's guard dropped a little. "So, you come from the 20th century?" Jane nodded, smiling. "Yep." Juliana took over for Jane, talking rapidly about themselves. Jane followed the two silently, listening in on the conversation and chiming in with her two cents every few sentences. She still couldn't believe that they were actually aboard Voyager. "Until later on, you'll have to share quarters. These will be yours." Roshardo explained, stopping in front of a door. She entered a command code and the doors opened with a 'swoosh'. "Groovy." Juliana whispered as she entered. The quarters looked exactly like they had on television, but they seemed larger in real life. There was a couch and chair surrounding a coffee table, and a table with some chairs was near what she guessed was a replicator. Following a small hallway, she found a bathroom, and two bedrooms. Walking into the nearest one, she called. "This one's mine!" Jane raised an eyebrow. "Okay!" she replied, glancing around. Alexandra leaned against a wall, deep in thought. Seeing a desktop computer, Jane went over to it. Pressing a large white button, she turned it on. Abandoning it, she wandered down the hall to the other bedroom. It was pretty small, with a dresser, mirror, and twin bed. "Obviously, civilization lost their taste of fashion somewhere along the timeline." she called. "Everything is SO dull....and gray!" From the other bedroom she could hear Juliana laugh. Glancing through the doorway, she spotted Roshardo trying to cover up a smile with her hand. *But it's true!* she told herself, glancing around again. Then she grinned. With some posters and other things, it would probably seem like her room in no time. Meanwhile, Juliana went back out into the living room. "Shouldn't you be on duty or something?" she asked Alexandra. Roshardo glanced up. "I suppose you could put it that way." she commented dryly. "C'mon, I'll show you how to use the replicators." Juliana's eyes lit up at the countless possibilities. A minute later, Juliana and Jane (who had come out of her room concluding that since she had no idea how they'd get home, she might as well make the best of it) were busy gleefully replicating everything they could think of while the ensign instructed them. In ten minutes, Jane had replicated a bunch of posters, countless books (even though Ensign Roshardo had told her that she could just as easily download novels from the databanks), some model horses (Jane was a horse nut), and a few outfits. She smiled contentedly, then plopped down in a chair and watched Juliana finish replicating her things. Soon there was a large pile of clothes. Holding up a pair of jeans and shirt, Jane smirked. "How come all you replicated was *clothes*?" she asked. Juliana shrugged. "I can always replicate more stuff later," she retorted. "Besides, *I* actually have a taste for style." She waited for Jane's reaction. Instead of yelling, Jane just rolled her eyes. "Just shows who's the more mature one." she kidded, smiling. Turning to Alexandra, she asked. "So, can we access the computer banks or do we need some kind of high profile to do so? Because I HAVE to find out if Bobby and Brigitte get married!" Roshardo nodded, thinking that the girl was referring to a soap opera. Her friend Marie Dunn was crazy about one called 'All My Children', but she personally couldn't have cared less about Mateo's teenage wife coming back with their son to steal Mateo from Hayley. Or however Marie had tried to explain it. "Sure." Within a few minutes Jane was sitting at the table staring intently at the computer. "I'd better go. You can communicate with anyone if you need help by using the computer, all right?" Juliana nodded; Jane barely acknowledged the ensign. "It was nice meeting you!" Juliana called. Alexandra said good-bye and left. As soon as she did, Juliana turned and went over to Jane. "Since when do you watch soaps?" she asked, incredulous. Jane looked up and laughed. "I DON'T! I was referring to Tom and B'Elanna. Don't tell me you haven't seen 'Killing Games' enough times!" Juliana smiled. "But seriously, we can do that later. Right now we have to get down to the cargo bay." "Why? To meet Seven and to chat with Commander Chakotay? Why can't I just-" Jane was interrupted as Juliana turned her desktop computer off. "But-" "Because we know what happens next! Don't you see? This is exactly like the episode Scorpion!" Juliana explained, pulling on Jane's arm. Jane reluctantly got up. "My opinion is that its like Jumajii. Ya know, where those kids get sucked into that game..." Juliana rolled her eyes and dragged Jane, who continued to voice her opinion, out the door. "Come on! Don't you want to meet Seven?" Jane sighed. "Fine, fine! I'm coming!" she called, and jogged after Juliana. "But I..." She stopped when Juliana turned and gave her a good imitation of Janeway's 'death glare'. Unfortunately for Juliana, she wasn't the least bothered by it. She just decided to save her energy, in case they had to high tail it out of the cargo bay rather fast. "We're going the wrong way." she pointed out. The two turned around and headed for the cargo bay. Juliana sighed, then grinned. "Do they get married?" she asked. "I dunno." Jane shrugged. "I wonder if we'll be stuck here forever." At that, Juliana made a face. Sure, being on Voyager was cool enough, but she sorta missed her family and the rest of her friends. "Hey, maybe we can set them up on some blind dates if we're here long enough!" she suggested. Jane shrugged. "Lead the way!" she proclaimed. "You *are* leading the way to the turbolift!" "What *ever*!" ***** The two of them made it as far as the corridor leading to the Cargo Bay. Then, they were stopped by a large security guard. "I'm sorry, your not allowed past this point--" "Ensign, its okay. What are you guys doing down here?" Chakotay came up behind them. "You shouldn't even be on this deck." "But we want to go see Seven--" Juliana started but shut up as Jane elbowed her... again. "I know this must be exciting for you, but I'm not letting you near the Borg. After this is all over, we'll talk. I need to get to Sickbay." "But--" Juliana started again but trailed off as Chakotay gave her a stern look. "What are we supposed to do?" "Can we use the holodeck?" Jane asked hopefully. "I suppose. Its not that hard to figure out." He saw them to the turbolift. "Good luck." "This bites." Juliana declared. "Computer, Deck 7. Hey! Let's go riding!" Jane's face lighted up. "We could! That'd be so cool!" Juliana and Jane practically ran down the corridor towards their quarters. Juliana made a bee-line for the replicator. "Computer, jeans, Western riding boots, and a white button up T-shirt. Plus... a white cowboy hat. And chaps." Jane joined her. "Computer, breeches, a pair of chaps, and also a black helmet." She turned to Juliana. "I already got a shirt." Juliana disappeared into her room with her things. "Hurry up." In the end, it was Jane that was waited for Juliana. But finally, she was done and they were back in the turbolift. "Computer... is holodeck 1 in use?" Jane asked hesitantly. "Holodeck 1 is currently not in use." "Save it for our us." Juliana ordered. "And take us there." ***** "Okay, let's figure out how to use this thing." Juliana boldly entered the holodeck and looked around. "This is awesome!" "Its a holodeck." Jane said matter of @@@@@@@@@@. "I know that! Where do you want to go riding?" "Hawaii?" Jane asked. "I've always wanted to go riding in Hawaii." "Great! Computer, create a Hawaiian beach front on the Big Island. Have several valleys and a few mountains added. Create a stable with several horses off to the left and a trail leading through the valleys and onto the beach. And create a stable hand and a few dogs or cats wandering around. And make the stablehand cute!" The holodeck around them shimmered to life. They could hear the pounding surf as a handsome man came up to them. "May I help you?" "Uhh... yeah. We want to go riding. Can we take a look at the horses?" "Of course, of course." He said and beckoned them to follow him. "What kind of horse would you like, Miss?" He asked Jane. She furrowed her brow and pointed to a dark brown Appaloosa with several white dots on her rump. "What's her name?" "Elf." Juliana glanced at the man and back at 'Elf.' "Interesting. What's that one?" She pointed to a white horse with a long black mane and tail. "Doe." "Can I ride her?" "Sure." He slipped between the corral and whistled. Doe looked up and trotted towards him. "Who are you going to ride?" Juliana asked, taking the lead rope from the man. "Umm... the red one, near the far end of the paddock." "That's Sprite." "Sprite then!" Jane grinned and took the lead rope. They quickly saddled the horses and mounted up. "Computer, save this program under... Horses1." The computer beeped its confirmation. They rode in silence for almost an hour, Jane was looking over at the ocean, Juliana led the way. Juliana urged Doe into a canter and Jane soon followed. They quickly cleared the first valley floor and pulled the horses back into a walk for the steep trail up the other side of the valley. "Come on, lets let the horses rest." Jane said, once they were nearing the beach. "Want to go swimming?" Juliana asked, sliding off Doe. "Sure." "Computer, uhh... access the central replicator files." She turned to Jane. "Tom said that in Scientific Method and I always wanted to say it. Computer, two swimsuits and a place to change. And lots of towels! Though you can make those holographic." A heap of towels appeared and Juliana and Jane grabbed the bathing suits. They changed into them in the dressing rooms the computer provided and Juliana took off at a fast run towards the ocean. She was up to her waist when Jane reached her knees. "Come on out here, the water feels great!" Juliana turned and swam out farther. "Computer, make the waves a bit smaller. Have the ocean better for swimming and not surfing. Though have a few big waves come up every now and again for us to ride to shore on." The ocean calmed and Jane reached Juliana. They were several hundred yards off shore. "I love Hawaii!" Jane declared. "Me too! Its better then real life." Juliana started to tread water and flipped onto her back. "Computer, a large whale floaty." A large whale float appeared a few feet from Juliana and she climbed up on it, resting her head and closing her eyes. "Two last things, create another whale float, and two cokes, with two sets of sunglasses. And Tom Paris look-a-likes to serve us." "Juliana!" Jane grinned as two Tom Paris look-a-likes appeared. Juliana flipped over and the Tom Paris began to massage her back. "Hmm.. ok, I'll indulge this once." Juliana was just about falling asleep when the ship was rocked slightly. And then again. She opened her eyes and sat up. "Computer, contact the bridge." "Bridge here, what is it?" came Commander Chakotay's sharp reply. "What's happening?" "We've entered the quantam singularity. Bridge out." Juliana shrugged and lay back down. "Scorpion will be over soon, I'm going to take a nap." ***** Jane glanced over at Juliana, who was still sleeping on the float she had created via the holobanks. She sighed and deleted the two Tom Paris look-a-likes, smirking at the thought of the actual Tom Paris walking in on Juliana's brief fantasy. She wished she could see Juliana wheedle her way out of it. Frowning, she discarded her sunglasses and slowly edged herself back into the ocean. Now that her body was used to the heat, the water felt extremely cold. *Even better.* she thought gleefully as she slowly waded over to where Juliana was taking a nap. In one swift movement, she ducked under the float and pushed it over. Juliana shrieked as she fell into the icy water. "Jane, you are dead!" she screamed, then dived for Jane, who was treading water and laughing at the same time. Jane soon stopped laughing when she found herself underwater. When she managed to get away and resurface, she pleaded with Juliana. "Sorry!" Juliana replied by continuously splashing Jane. Jane rolled her eyes, but soon the two were engaged in splashing each other. A few minutes later, they stopped. "Now what?" Jane asked. "Bet I can beat you back to the stable." Juliana challenged. Jane grinned. "You're on." ***** Five minutes later, Doe galloped into the stableyard, Juliana expertly riding the mare as Doe stopped. The same stablehand was there, but Jane and Sprite were nowhere to be seen. *Where'd she go?* Juliana wondered. Her question was answered when Sprite trotted around the bend. "What's wrong?" Juliana asked. "Oh, nothing. I'm just not too good at cantering or galloping." replied Jane, knowing all-too-well that Juliana was a much better rider than her. After all, she hadn't gotten on a horse since four months ago. Sure, she was a pretty good rider, but she hadn't taken lessons since last spring. "Sorry!" Juliana apologized. Jane just laughed. "No problem. Tell you what. I'll teach you how to ride English and you can teach me how to ride Western, as well as how to canter and gallop, 'kay?" She dismounted Sprite and handed over the reins to the stablehand. Juliana nodded. "Sure!" "Now what should we do?" Jane persisted. Juliana's eyes lit up. "Let's go find out." Jane couldn't have agreed more. ***** Kathryn Janeway frowned as she watched Seven of Nine walk to the different controls, eye piece whirling and chirping. She still didn't trust the Borg drone, but she knew she would have to. *It's either that or be assimilated.* Kathryn thought grimly, wondering if the Borg would keep their end of the deal. She sure hoped so. At the helm, Tom Paris piloted Voyager through subspace. His mind wandered back to Jane and Juliana. The two girls sure knew their way around for teenagers from the 20th century, and how Jane had expertly referred to the Angola habitat. He remembered every second they had spent in there, from warming up B'Elanna's hands to urging her on. He had even reverted to flirting with her to try to get her to move. A blissful smile crept upon his face as he remembered her brown eyes, seeming even darker against the snow. "Mr. Paris," Janeway questioned. Tom snapped alert and turned. "Yes?" "Try not to daydream. This isn't exactly calm space." Janeway replied dryly. She saw Seven of Nine glance up out of the corner of her eye and she frowned. "Yes, ma'am." Tom turned back to piloting the ship. Meanwhile, B'Elanna looked up from the subspace frequency equations. Her gaze fastened on the Paris and tried not to smile as he expertly piloted the ship. He smiled and she couldn't help wondering what he was thinking about. As soon as she realized what *she* was thinking, she immediately blushed. *Stop it. You're in the middle of Borg space, about to engage the enemy, and all you can think about is what Tom Paris is thinking of?* she chided herself, but her answer was yes. Sighing, she turned back to her work. ***** Jane and Juliana, who were wandering about the ship, stopped in midstride. Juliana turned to Jane, who winced. "Uh-oh. Do you think we should warn them about Seven?" she asked meekly. Juliana shrugged in reply. "Hey, they handled everything without knowing before." "Yeah, but that was on a television show." Jane muttered. "Where are we going?" "To the Bridge." "But-" Jane stopped talking. "Captain Janeway is going to have our heads if we take one step onto Deck 1." she protested. "She doesn't even know our names, Jane. We're not going to get home, so we might as well make ourselves useful!" Juliana replied back, heading for the turbolift. Or at least where she *thought* the turbolift should be. Jane followed, but she was frowning. "How can we make ourselves useful by getting in everyone's way?" "Look, if you want to go back to your room and sulk, go right ahead." Juliana called over her shoulder. Jane sighed as she watched Juliana turn a corner. Then she broke into a jog, grinning ruefully. "Wait up!" ***** The turbolift doors opened and Jane peered into the room as the doors swooshed open. She darted back into the turbolift and shook her head. "We're gonna be dead!" she sang softly as Juliana pushed past Jane and strode onto the Bridge. Jane shrugged to herself and followed gamely. She looked over at Tuvok, who merely raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. However, other than the Vulcan, no one seemed to have noticed. They were too busy preparing to launch the Borgified weapons against the bioships that were on the viewscreen. "Fire!" Janeway commanded. ***** Bright lights were shining down into Juliana's face when she awoke. And then there was the annoying EMH at her side. She sat up and looked around. "What happened?" "You were knocked out in the fight." The Doctor said irritably. He turned and ran a scanner over Jane. "Both of you are fine. And we have defeated the Borg and Species 8472 for now." "Oh... great." The Doctor only lifted an eyebrow. Jane sat up then and smiled brightly at the Doctor. "Hi!" she said cheerfully. The Doctor shook his head and closed his tricorder. "The captain wants to see you both. Go to her quarters. You do know where they are? Oh, I forgot, you know where everything is. Please don't make me bow, supreme Voyager goddesses." Juliana hopped off the bio bed and motioned to Jane. "Come on! I gotta go change." "Juliana, you've only been in that outfit two hours!" "So?" Juliana demanded. "Its... boring. I'm sick of white jeans and this shirt." "Fine, let's stop at our quarters. But hurry up!" ***** A half hour later both finally stood outside of Captain Janeway's quarters. Juliana wore a dark silk skirt with a few red roses and a silver shirt. Her hair was freshly combed, she had insisted she needed a shower when they got to their quarters. Jane had replicated a few more books while Juliana had been trying out the sonic shower. "I'm telling you, I don't like it! I'll have to start taking baths in the holodeck!" "Will you get clean that way?" Jane asked her. "I dunno." Juliana leaned over and looked at the control panel before Jane pushed her aside and pressed the chimes button. "Enter!" Kathryn Janeway called and the girls entered. "Hello! Finally, I get to meet you two. You probably all ready know all about me, Chakotay says that Voyager is a..." She searched for the right word. "Television show!" Juliana said, sitting down on the couch. "I'm Juliana Ferguson, and this is Jane Griffen. We're from the 20th century." "And how did you get here? On the Borg Cube?" Jane looked at Juliana. "We were playing Star Trek: Monopoly and Juliana landed on Borg Assimilation Chamber. And then... I heard like a metal clanging sound and I blinked and the next thing I know Borg are pulling me away." Janeway looked confused but shook her head. "I guess I won't understand that. But since your here, I don't think there is a way to send you back." Juliana looked down at her hands. "Guess we'll never see our families again..." She sighed. "Its kind of exciting, but its going to be kind of odd." Janeway smiled. "It will be that. But I'm inviting you to join our crew. We could use the young minds." She reached behind her and opened her hand to show two Starfleet communicators. Juliana and Jane exchanged a look before taking them and pinning them on. "We can discuss what your going to do later. Right now, are your quarters okay?" Jane nodded. "Yeah, but no offense or anything, they are ugly." "Use the replicator. But like everyone else, we-" "Have rations, we know." Juliana interrupted. "Do we have access to the entire ship?" Janeway furrowed her brow. "Yes, I think that'd be fair. Soon, I'll assign you people to work with. B'Elanna already told me you, Jane, liked Engineering?" "Yes! I almost blew up the ship!" Jane said proudly. "I'm sure you did. Juliana?" "I... well... umm... OPS! And piloting! And medical! And security! And... wait, I don't think I can do all of those." Janeway smiled and stood up. "We'll discuss this tomorrow, would you like to join my senior staff for dinner tomorrow night? Holodeck 2." "Sure!" Juliana grinned and Jane nodded eagerly. As soon as they went into their quarters, Juliana flounced over to the replicator. Jane frowned. "What are you doing?" she asked. "Well, since we're going to a party, I'm going replicate a new outfit." came Juliana's reply. Jane merely stifled a grin and sat back down in the chair she had occupied before Juliana had pried her away from the computer. Reopening the files, she began to read. Five minutes later, she screamed. "Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!" Juliana, startled, looked up. "What?" "They get married!" Jane shrieked, leaping up from her chair and jumping up and down. At that moment the bell chime rang. "Uhh..." Jane muttered, looking frantically at Juliana. Meanwhile, Juliana was grinning from ear to ear. "Come in!" The doors opened, revealing a slightly startled Tom Paris. "Who got married?" he asked, walking in nonchalantly. Jane and Juliana looked at each other, trying not to laugh. "Bobby and Brigitte." Juliana supplied. "Sit down! Would you like something to drink?" Jane scrutinized the pilot as he sat down and accepted Juliana's offer. "Sure. Raktijino?" Before Juliana could get it, Jane waltzed over, carrying a steaming cup of something that smelled strongly like coffee. Racking her memory, Jane remembered that it *was* coffee. Just Klingon coffee. Handing it to Paris, she wrinkled her nose. "I don't know how you can stand that stuff." she commented. "Have you ever tried it before?" Tom asked, taking a sip but not dropping his gaze. Jane fidgeted. "Well, no..." She paused. "But its Klingon coffee! And coffee is just so..." She paused again. "Coffee tastes bad." she said in the end, shrugging. Tom nearly spit into his cup. "But how'd you know..." He stopped and sighed. "Never mind." Juliana smiled. "Why'd you come here?" she asked. Paris frowned. His real reason was that Kathryn Janeway had ordered him to get information; mainly an idea of how much the two thirteen year olds knew. "Umm..." "You want to know how much we know?" Juliana asked. Tom, caught off-guard, nodded. "Yes. You hit the nail on the head." he commented, leaning back. Juliana's eyes lit up and Jane grinned. "Well, Lieutenant," Jane commented. "It's going to be a long story." The pilot smiled. "Long stories are always good." he shot back. The two girls sat down on either side of the lieutenant. Juliana spoke up. "For starters, we'll tell you what television show we like to watch every Wednesday night..." ***** Half an hour Juliana sat back, content. She had just exhausted her entire memory on Star Trek. She had left out some episodes - like Resolutions and Blood Fever - but had included a lot of information. Jane, who had only started watching 'Voyager' half-way into its 3rd season, had chipped in as much information that she knew, but Juliana was obviously the one who knew most of the stuff. Both had refrained from telling him all about The Gift, Day of Honor, Scientific Method, Waking Moments, Hunter, and The Killing Game, as well as all the rest of the 4th season episodes. Jane had almost blurted out that he was going to get married in the future, but Juliana had shut her up before she'd gotten too far into the sentence. Tom set down the empty coffee mug, looking reapproachingly at the two girls, who stared back at him triumphant. "And you know all this because of a TV show?" he asked incredulously, wondering how much they knew about his personal life. "Oh, yes-" Jane stopped, wondering if she should go on. She looked at Juliana, but Juliana just shrugged as if to say 'Beats me'. "Is it in the computer banks?" Paris continued. Juliana's eyes widened. "Umm...Wouldn't it be breaking Starfleet Protocol to watch any episodes?" she asked quickly. "I mean, you'd be watching your future unfold. Besides, you *did* tell Kes that you wanted your future to be a surprise. Don't you still want that?" "Besides, it would be cheating." Jane added quietly. "What do you mean by that?" Tom replied, gazing quizzically at the brunette who sat at his right. Jane's hazel-green eyes narrowed. "Well..." She looked over at Juliana and mouthed 'P-T'. Juliana grinned. "Wouldn't it knock all the fun out of your relationship with B'E-" "Janeway to Paris." The pilot just gaped at the two girls. For a second he didn't answer. Then he slowly tapped his commbadge. "Paris here." "You're five minutes late for your duty shift, Lieutenant." came the crisp voice of Voyager's captain over the comm system. The helmsman frowned. "I'm on my way." He got up and dematerialized his mug. Turning to Jane and Juliana, he shook his head slowly. Then he left. Jane and Juliana turned to each other and gave each other a high five. "This is going to be fun." Juliana said, grinning. Jane smiled. "But of course!" ***** About two hours after Tom had left, Jane wandered away from the computer console and into Juliana's bedroom. It was totally redone! The carpet was the same gray, but the bed had a royal blue, silk, fluffy comforter on it with three plump pillows with a light green vine print on them. A large bear that Jane remembered seeing the last Christmas at JC Penny’s sat on the pillows. The lights over the bed were purple. The bed itself looked to be made up soft, white leather. Shelves were above the bed and held collections of copies of Juliana's Breyer horses. There were pintos and browns, and one that caught Jane's eye. It looked like it was loping, and had large brown and white splotches. Its head was tilted slightly. The desk was still in the corner but the chair was a black leather one. It was facing the wall. The windows expanded the entire wall the desk was on. A door led into the bathroom on the right side of the bed. Posters were all over the place, one from Titanic, and a few of miscellaneous objects. There was a bookshelf on the back wall, with a smaller shelf. It had a few pictures on it. "Wow! It looks great!" Juliana turned and grinned. "Thanks! I'm going to find some more posters and stuff. And see all the clothes!" She stood up and pushed the control for her closet. "Cool, huh?" "Just what you need. More clothes." Jane yawned. "Well, I'm going to bed." Juliana smiled wickedly. "Okay. I'm going to give the living room an uplift." "Yeah, whatever." Jane mumbled, heading into her bedroom. ***** Jane shuffled out of her room eight hours later and stared groggily at the living room. They were still here. She had hoped it was all a dream, a good dream, but a dream nonetheless. The living room was completely redone. Where the glass table had been, a solid oak table stood. It had a brightly colored rug underneath, it was green, blue, and maroon. The gray couch had been replaced with a white leather one. There were two other leather chairs, one that had a footstool. A quilt lay on the back of the couch, with a bright white star. A vase of flowers stood on a side table that matched the main table. Juliana had been busy. The doorless entry way that led into a dining room was also different. It had a few plants by the window, looking out into space, and the dining room table was oak, as well. The small kitchenette had been left alone except she had redone the colors in a bright, friendly red with a dark blue trim. "JULIANA!" Jane turned and ran back down the hall and into Juliana's room. "What the heck did you do to the living room?!" Juliana rolled over and pulled her comforter up around her chin more. "Nothing..." Her eyes closed again but sat up a few minutes later, wide awake. "Good morning!" "Morning. What happened to the rest of our quarters?" "Oh, don't you like it? I've always wanted leather couches. And to be able to do a dining room, too!" "But its so... un Star Trek!" "Exactly. Now that we live here, who wants to put up with all the *gray!?*" "You have a point." Jane left her room and took a quick shower, changed into comfortable jeans and a tee shirt, and made her way back to the living room. Juliana was lounging on the couch, dressed in black and white checkered pants and a white shirt. Her hair was loose. She hopped up when Jane entered the room. "Time to go!" "Go where?" "The Mess Hall, silly!" "Oh! Let's go!" ***** Several people were in the Mess Hall as Juliana and Jane entered. But someone could have heard a pin drop in a crowded room when people noticed them. Heads turned, a few mouths dropped open, someone even spilled their coffee. Jane tried to smile but moved closer to Juliana. Juliana grinned at everyone and tapped on the counter. Neelix turned around, looked at the gawkers, and then turned his attention to Juliana and Jane. "Hello, hello! I'm--" "Neelix." The girls said together, shaking his hand. The Talaxian looked shocked but smiled. "Yes, I'm Neelix. Its so nice to meet you! The captain told me you might be coming by. And I'm so glad you did! What can I get for you this morning? Come, come back here. You can eat in the kitchen today, to save all the fuss with the crew." He hurriedly set places for two people at a small table. "Drinks to start out with?" "Umm... orange creme soda?" Juliana asked hopefully. Neelix furrowed his brow. "That sounds familiar... an ensign must have wanted it. He went into a small room and came back out with a tea cup and saucer and holding a glass canister. He poured some of the orange liquid into the cup and set it down in front of Juliana. "There we go." "Thanks!" Jane was looking at Juliana, an odd look on her face. "Juliana, orange creme soda... for breakfast?" Juliana grinned. "So?" "I'll have a glass of orange juice." Neelix poured her a glass and then turned to serve a few people waiting by the counter. Juliana swerved her head to see who it was. Her face broke into a smile. "Its Harry!" Jane stood up. "And Kes!" Juliana stood up too. "Hey, guys!" Kes smiled brightly at them. "Hello Jane, Juliana. Have you met Harry?" "Not formerly." Juliana stepped around the corner and grinned at him. She extended her hand. "I'm Juliana Ferguson. This is Jane Griffen." Jane smiled, wondering how many times she was going to be introduced while onboard Voyager. *Probably a million times.* she thought ruefully. "Harry Kim. Tom told me about you two." "Would you like to join us for breakfast?" Kes asked. "Sure, we'd love too!" Neelix looked confused but smiled. "I'll move your things out there. What would you like for breakfast?" "Doesn't matter to me." Juliana said. "I'll be adventurous." Jane looked a little worried but grinned. "Same." Harry led them to a table near the back and sat down. A second later the doors whooshed open and B'Elanna and Tom walked in. They glanced around and then made their way to the table. Tom grabbed a few chairs and set them around. He grinned at Juliana and Jane. "Good morning, Julie, Jane." Juliana's smile turned dark. Tom looked alarmed. "Not Julie?" Juliana shook her head. "Julia. Jules. Ana. Jula, anything BUT Julie." "Okay. Ana." Juliana smiled. "Good." Neelix came back to their table again, carrying four trays. He set them down in front of Kes, Kim, Juliana, and Jane. He quickly reappeared again with two more trays for B'Elanna and Tom. Juliana and Jane both poked at their food. Juliana rolled her egg over to see the bottom and squashed the egg for the yolk to come out. Once she was sure it was edible, she daintily bit into it, chewed, swallowed and her face turned into a scowl. "Yuck! What was that?!" "Leola root." Kes said, trying not to smile. Tom had a twinkle in his blue eyes and B'Elanna was faking a cough. Kim buried his head in his PADD but he was shaking with silent laughter. "Gross!" Juliana pushed the tray away and took a long drink of her orange creme soda. Jane carefully pushed her eggs away and inspected the leaves of the salad. "Is this leola root, too?" "Yup. Your entire breakfast is leola root." "Umm... ya know, I'm really not hungry, now that you mention it..." Jane said, giving her tray a small push. B'Elanna started to laugh even harder, choking on her non-Leola root eggs, and starting to cough. Tom patted her on the back until she was finished. Jane and Juliana gave each other high-fives under the table. It was so cute! B'Elanna was doubling over, coughing and laughing at the same time. Tears were starting to roll down her face. Tom had his entire arm around her, tapping on her back gently and holding a napkin up to her mouth. The entire scene cracked Kim and Kes up as well. Before Jane realized, their entire table was rolling with fits of laughter. B'Elanna had finally stopped coughing but was still laughing. Tom had tears rolling down his cheeks which B'Elanna was trying to wipe the tears away, as a return compliment for holding the napkin for her while she coughed, but it only made Tom laugh harder. Neelix looked confused. "Did I miss something?" ***** "So, where to now?" Jane asked as they left the Mess Hall. The four officers had Bridge and Sickbay duty but Jane and Juliana were going to meet Tom and Harry for lunch in another four to five hours. "I dunno... wanna go riding? We can bring a book or something and lounge in the ocean for hours." Juliana answered. "Or we could do a holo-program!" "Like...?" "I dunno... a western or something. Or we could create Voyager being under attack and we get to be in command!" Jane looked excited. "Oh, all right. C'mon! We can get Starfleet uniforms from the replicator!" ***** The Bridge was deserted when Juliana and Jane entered the holodeck. Juliana hopped over the rail into the captain's chair. "I'm Captain! No, wait, I don't want to be the captain. I'll be the... helmsman!" "Okay, I'm going to try out Security. Computer, create... who should we have as a commanding officer?" "Kirk?" Juliana crowed. "All right. Computer, create a holographic image of James T. Kirk, Commanding officer of the USS Enterprise." Kirk appeared and came to life a few seconds later. Juliana looked around. "We need more people. Computer, create... a holographic image of Commander Riker for the first officer, Jadzia Dax for the science officer, Montgomery Scott for the Engineer, and Data for OPS." The holograms appeared and a second later, blinked to life. "Awesome! Computer, create a few mindless ensigns for the other positions. And create a mission for us." The computer beeped its understanding and the ship came to life. Kirk wasn't there anymore, Riker armed the captain's chair. Juliana pretended to be busy at the helm, she really didn't know how everything worked. The turbolift doors whooshed open and Kirk walked in a few seconds later. "Okay, people, listen up! Our mission is too take Voyager into Klingon space and attack the WarBase "Blood's Honor." It will be some fancy flying and tough gunning people, I hope you're up to it. Helm, take us out, nice and slow." Juliana turned back around towards the helm and hesitantly pressed a few buttons. She felt the ship accelerate and pressed a few more keys. The ship swerved to the right sharply. "Ensign, is there a problem?" "No, sir. Computer, make me a Lt. Commander!" Juliana snapped. The Holodeck reset. "Lt. Commander, take us out, nice and slow." "Yes, sir." Kirk stood up. "Lieutenant Commander Griffin-" Jane had quickly promoted herself, since Juliana was *not* going to be a higher-ranking officer than her, "Run a diagnostic on the weapon's systems. We'll--" The ship was rocked suddenly. "Report!" Data looked at Kirk, cocking his head in the android manner. "We were hit from behind. Scanning... two Romulan warbirds." "Evasive maneuvers, helm. Arm phaser banks!" Juliana slammed her fist down on one of buttons and the ship dove forward. Kirk grabbed at the security console to steady himself. "Who's piloting, you or the ship?" "Ya know, he always bugged me." A voice said from behind Juliana. She turned to see Captain Janeway. "Computer, freeze program." The program froze and Janeway smiled. "Trying out my ship, I see." Jane blushed. "I hope its all right..." "Quite all right. I was hoping you would. Want another commanding officer?" "Sure! Computer, delete Kirk and have Kathryn Janeway as commanding officer." Janeway walked down to the lower level of the ship, glancing at the frozen figures of Scotty, Dax, Riker, and Data. "You go for the best, I see." "Yup!" "So, what's happening?" Janeway asked, sitting down in the captain's chair. "We're getting attacked by two Romulan warbirds." "Then lets beat some Romulan butt. Computer, resume." The ship continued to fall. "Julia! Right the ship!" "Uhh..." Juliana paused briefly before hitting several buttons and the ship started to zig zag, missing hits from the Romulan warbirds. "Congratulations! Jane, fire at will!" "Aye, sir!" Voyager fired off a round of photon torpedoes, only one hitting a Romulan war bird. "Direct hit." Data reported. "There shields are weakened." "Try the phasers, Jane! Juliana, do another nose dive, get their attention." "Right!" Voyager dropped again and Juliana felt herself almost lose her breakfast. This is so cool!" She yelled over the noise of the drop. "Fire phasers, Jane." Orange light shot from Voyager and hit the other warbird, again and again. It exploded several seconds later. "Come about, Juliana. Get close. Jane, fire two torpedoes at them." "Torpedoes away." "Direct hit to the warbird." Data called out. "Its buckling!" Juliana cried, not sure why. A few seconds later, the warbird exploded. "Congratulations!" Janeway called out, standing up. "Why don't we just take a nice cruise around our known galaxy? We can make this a daily routine and work on different aspects of the ship each day." "Cool! Sure!" Juliana grinned and looked down at the helm and then back up at Janeway. "I can get the hang of this." Jane snorted but grinned at Juliana's glare. ***** "This day was so cool!" Juliana bubbled enthusiacsticly as Jane and Juliana returned to their quarters after a day spent mostly on the holodeck. After their piloting lesson, Janeway had shown them around modern-day San Francisco before Jane and Juliana headed to lunch. After lunch, they had taken a ride and swam again. Jane headed back to their quarters to do more reading and Juliana had gone in search of the Doctor. They had met up again in the corridor and were heading back there to get ready for the party. "What are you planning on wearing?" "What's the occasion? Or the setting?" Jane asked. "I'm not sure. Juliana to Neelix." She hit her commbadge and grinned at Jane, mouthing, "I love these things! "Neelix here. What can I do for you, Juliana?" "What exactly is the them for this party?" "Well, you mentioned Titanic in our conversation earlier, so I set it aboard the Titanic!" "Awesome!" "Titanic?" Jane asked Juliana. "You never give up. But hey, it will be fun!" "I know!" ***** The holodeck opened onto the grand staircase on the ancient steam ship. A few first class passengers milled around, waiting for people. Juliana turned and waved Jane on in. "Come on!" "I can't walk, Jules! How can I in three inch heels and a floor length dress!?" "You 'adapt,' to quote Seven. You look great!" "I feel like I've been ripped and cut and smashed into this thing. Its pretty, but its so hard to walk in! I'm going to trip!" Jane had on a dark purple dress that brought out her brown eyes. The gown had a small cape trailing behind it. The cape was see through, the dress simple enough, as well. It had only a few small beads on the bodice, but was floor length and thick. Juliana had taken Jane's hair and pulled it into a high pony tail, and had managed to curl her hair. "Computer, create Titanic men to escort us down the staircase. And make mine look like Leonardo DiCaprio!" "I thought you hated DiCaprio." Jane commented as the two holograms appeared. Juliana grinned. "I do, but I had a dream once he would escort me down the grand staircase on Titanic, so I'll let him." Juliana's dress was green but in several different shades. It had a darker green towards the floor and her elbow high gloves were the lightest of greens. She wore a simple pearl necklace around her neck and had her hair in several different braids. She wore a jeweled tiara and it had a small emerald. Her dress trailed behind her gracefully, she had fashioned it off Rose's from "Titanic." "I'm going to trip." Jane said again. "Just walk. The guy will catch you." The Titanic orchestra started to play as Juliana and Leo started to descend the stairs. Neelix hurried towards them in an elegant tuxedo. The Doctor stood at the bottom of the stairs already. Neelix bowed and kissed each of their hands before standing formerly beside the Doctor. He held his head high as Leo took Juliana a few feet away. They waited for the rest of the crew. The next to come were Harry and Kes. Harry looked wonderful in his black and white tux. Kes wore a light blue dress, and her hair was piled up on top of her head. The dress was embroidered from about the waistline up and dropped low in the back. The skirt was a darker blue with white pearls attached in several places. Leo bent and kissed her hand, Jane's man, whom she had nicknamed, "Phil," did the same. Harry kissed both of Jane's and Juliana's hands, before offering a chair to Kes. Chakotay and Janeway came next. Jane smiled widely. They looked so happy! Kathryn's dress was a dark red with a light gold trim. Her hair was layered in sections in different braids. Chakotay looked nervous but extremely happy. He whispered something in her ear about halfway down the grand staircase. Janeway laughed softly. The last to come down as Tom and B'Elanna. Tom must've persuaded B'Elanna into being his date, but they both looked as if they had stepped out of 1912. B'Elanna's dress was a dark maroon that matched her skin tone perfectly, and had a lighter color of blue for her cape. The dress was simple, like Jane's, but B'Elanna didn't look the least bit uncomfortable. "If only the Ites could see this!" Juliana whispered to Jane. Jane grinned. "Every P/Ter would go nuts!" ***** Dinner was served about a half hour later. The evening passed by quickly and before Juliana and Jane noticed, people were rising to dance. Chakotay first asked Janeway but she declined and whispered something in his ear. He chuckled and bowed to Juliana. "Miss, may I have this dance?" He kissed her hand. "Of course, sir." Juliana rose and winked to Jane. Harry asked Jane and she rose as well. Tom was dancing with B'Elanna and Janeway was talking to the Doctor. Kes and Neelix were dancing, too. Chakotay turned out to be a wonderful dancer and was surprised that Juliana knew the steps to the dance. Jane soon got the hang of it as well, but Harry didn't. He stepped on Jane's feet a few times, but Jane didn't mind. She was too busy having fun. The song ended and both curtsied to their partners, before Tom cut in on Jane, and Harry on Chakotay. Juliana taught Harry the right steps while Jane was in Heaven, while dancing with Tom. Chakotay and the captain danced, before a slow song started. Jane and Juliana sat down, exhausted after dancing two fast numbers in a row. The Doctor had found a 1912 girl to dance with and seemed to be having a good time. Tom and B'Elanna were dancing closest to Juliana and Jane, so both of them kept an eye on them. Tom was talking to B'Elanna, who looked slightly uncomfortable, but they could both tell she was happy. ***** Juliana was dancing with Phil when Jane, weaving through the many couples, dashed up to her. "We need to talk!" she hissed. Juliana excused herself and the two teenagers walked out to the side. "What?" she asked. As far as she could tell, everything was wonderful. She voiced her opinion. "What? Oh, nothing's *wrong*, exactly, but I was thinking..." Jane whispered her idea into Juliana's ear. "But how're we going to do that? You yourself said that you can barely walk in three-inch heels!" Jane rolled her eyes. "I'm going to have major blisters." she commented, grimacing, but then smiled. She asked for a replicator, and quickly replicated dark purple suede shoes with no heels, and then quickly got rid of the cape and asked the computer to readjust her dress. Soon, the trail was gone, and the hemline was a few inches above her knees. Juliana gaped. "You just ruined your dress!" she cried. Jane took out her dark purple scrunchie and shook her head vigorously, letting loose her brown hair. Hazel eyes sparkling, she replied. "I don't know how women could stand to wear dresses like that! They're too hot!" she explained, then her eyes fastened on the tiara Juliana wore. "How come you get a tiara?" she exclaimed. Juliana only shook her head, smiling. Jane replicated a tiara with a dark purple gem in the middle. "And you were commenting on how picky my fashion tastes are?" teased Juliana. Jane laughed. "C'mon!" she called enthusiastically, then asked the computer to change the pure-orchestra band music into a completely different type of music after the latest song ended. Soon, soft music notes floated through the air, and everyone stopped dancing, confused. Juliana asked for a microphone, and one appeared. She took it and cleared her throat. Everyone turned to look at the two girls. "Is this thing on?" she asked. Tom gave her the thumbs-up sign. "Okay. Jane and I decided that this classical music has *got* to go." continued Juliana, blue eyes sparkling, "So we're going to change it a little. Is that okay?" she added, looking over at Neelix. The Talaxian nodded, smiling expectantly. "Computer." Jane commanded. "Play the Electric Slide." Juliana raised an eyebrow. "I thought we were doing the Macerana." she said, grinning. Jane shrugged. "We'll do that next!" she proclaimed, then clapped her hands. "Everyone line up so that we make one big square." Everyone, still slightly puzzled, did as they were told to. Jane and Juliana got in the middle. The music started playing, and Jane started moving quickly forward, then backwards. No one else moved. "Computer, stop music. Just follow me!" she tried to explain. She started moving again, and Juliana did as well, following her friend. A woman with dark brown hair and crystal clear eyes smiled. "We did this at the Sady Hawkins Dance! Remember, Meg? Jon ran into you, and you were so mad." The woman nearby, who looked exactly like the officer who had spoken, smiled. "Right, but you were too busy chasing after Mike to notice." she teased. *The Delany sisters?* Juliana thought, but then the music started again and everyone began dancing. She laughed and tried hard not to run into Joe Carey, who was in front of her. This was going to be fun. ***** Several more dances later, Juliana and Jane finally began to wear down. They had been served sparkling cider instead of wine, but even that was getting to them. Juliana hadn't had a turn to dance with Tom and was determined to before they called it a night. She had danced with everyone, even Leo, but not Tom. Tom cut in on her and Leo, Leo whisking Jane out of Chakotay's arms. Jane looked a little shocked but danced with him anyway. Juliana danced with Tom before telling him to dance with B'Elanna on the last song. "Computer, create Celine Dion singing, 'My Heart Will Go On: Love Theme From Titanic.'" The band disappeared and the legendary singer appeared. Juliana stole Leo back from Jane, who then danced with Harry. Kes and the Doctor had had to leave, an Ensign had been injured in another one of the holodeck's. "My heart will go on and on..." The final note ended and Leo bowed. Juliana curtsied and looked over at Jane. They both grinned tired smiles. "This was so much fun!" Juliana bubbled happily. She hid a yawn. "But I'm exhausted. I think Jane and I are going to call it a night. Thanks everyone!" Kathryn came over and gave both of them hugs. Tom grinned and gave them hugs, too. "Goodnight, Janey, Ana." B'Elanna smiled. "Goodnight! sleep well!" "Computer, exit." ***** "Ya know," Juliana commented as they stood in front of their bathroom mirror, getting ready for bed. "This really isn't going to be that bad. In fact, its going to be fun!" "This is a dream come true!" Jane finished brushing her teeth. "But right now, I'm tired and I can't see in front of me. Night, Juliana." "Good night!" The two exited their bathroom into their respective rooms, and soon fell asleep.
