How To Trade A Pokémon Card

When trading Poke'mon cards, there are a few things that you should know in order to make a fair trade. So below we have included some basic card trading information along with some tips to make  sure you get the best and fairest trade.

...

Basic Information:

The most basic information is that there are 4 different rarities of Pokemon cards.
They are called common, uncommon, rare, and hologram. You should be able to tell by looking at the picture whether its a "holo" card or not.  Hologram cards shine.
Each Poke'mon card has a small symbol in the lower right corner of the card.

The first rule of trading is to make sure that you get the same rarity of card in return for each card you trade.

For example:
Hologram card -- is worth at least 2 rare cards
Rare card -- is worth at least  2 uncommon cards
Uncommon card --  is worth at least 2 common cards
Common card --  is worth at least another common card
Energy -- not worth much except for a Double Colorless Energy
1st Edition -- these are more rare and therefore more valuable than the unlimited edition cards.  Use your own discretion when trading.

Near Mint Condition -- A card that has a nick or two on the edge
Excellent/Fine Condition -- A card with several nicks or indentations
Fine Condition -- A card that has whitened corners, scratches, and scuff marks
Good Condition -- A card that has one or two major marks
