Carousel


This isn't really a song, but rather a noise making activity that sounds like a carousel. Split the group up into 4 seperate groups and assign each a noise to make. The first noise goes first (obviously) and then after a few times of making that noise, the 2nd group chimes in. Keep building with the sounds until all groups are making sounds at the same time. To end it go in reverse, taking away one group at a time until only the first group is left. After a few more Oom-pa-pa's they can finish. It really sounds cool!

Rain


I know this is not really a song, but I included in here because it is something we do a lot at my camp. It's more like making noise rather than singing, but it is really cool anyway.

This must be done with a large group of people and in absolute silence or else it will not work. One person is designated the leader and she starts at one end of the group and moves to the other end. When the leader gets to where you are in the group, you do the exact hand movements that she is doing. The hand movements will hopefully create the different sounds of rain. It is easier to do this indoors where the sounds echo off the walls. When you get to the complete downpour part, one person should flicker the lights on and off for the effect of lightening. After reaching the downpour stage, slowly start going back down the hand motions until you get to silence again. This experience is neat because while one part of the room is making one sound, another part is making another so the sound of rain comes in layers like real rain would.

The hand movements are:
Rubbing hands together = Drizzle
Tapping two fingers from each had together = Soft Rain
Snapping fingers = Light pitter-patter of rain
Light clapping of hands = Rain
Slapping thighs = Heavier rain
Stomping feet and slapping thighs = Downpour
