PROBLEM MANAGEMENT-four main   phases:
1.Identify
2.Analysis
3. Planing
4. Resolution and solving.
Roussi Marinov Ph.D.
associate professor in NBU
Problem: doubtful    or difficult     question;     thing hard to understand or deal with.  All problems possess the two features-     an objective and an obstacle.
Stages of problem solving- there are     four main steps:
a/formulating the problem, which     involves - identification, detection,     definition and interpretation;
b/constructing courses of     action;
c/desision making;
d/implementation and     solving.
In most problems these steps are     distinct and may be considered     seperately, but in some it may be     necessary to take three together.     Sometimes the existence and identify of     a difficult problem is all too obvious,     and all that we need is to make an     accurate definition in order to be able     to make a good start. Defining the     problem is the most important stage of     all in solving a problem.
formulation-     definition, detection, identification;
Process of     problem  solving:
interpretation-     analysis and description;
courses of     action- principles and criteria;
decision     making- choosing, evaluating;
implementation-     plans, action and control.
Let us now look at a basic sceleton     wich can be a starting point for any     problem:
Clearly define the problem- basic     fact finding, look at the history of the     situation,fact  questioning and assessment.
Idea generation- take a different     approach, fantasize and synthesize.
Solutin building- develop ideas into     solutions, build model of the situation.  Make iplementation plans.
Assesss and improve solution-     initial assessment of solution,   determine implications and attempt     improvement.
Conflict management and conflict   resolution
In the conflict management there are   three levels of goals:
tactical goals- will be   defined   as desired changes in conflict process;
strategic goals- will be   defined   as desired outcomes of conflict   episodes;
general goals- its a more   abstract goals that transcend conflict   episodes.
Acording Burton J. the technique of   controlled communication derives from   the hypothesis that conflict          occurs as a result of ineffective   communication, and that its   resolution,therefore,must      involve processes by which   communication can be made to be   effective.      By effective communication is meant   the deliberate conveying and accurate   receipte      and interpretation of was intended   should be conveyed, and the full   employment of information      as received and stored in the   allocation and re-allocation of   values,interests and goals.
