Dancing in the Rain (Lyrics)

Wind is rising, misty droplets
Touch my face as dark clouds loom
I am watching through the screen door
Behind me shadows fill the room
I can feel the married textures, wire mesh and monochrome
Silver trees, electric sky
Crashing now the storm has come...
But when I was a child, I went dancing in the rain
Under cloudy skies the rain came gently down
I am free - I am flying, I am dancing in the rain
With my arms thrown wide I'm spinning round & round
Trees sway back and forth like dancers
Tied to earth against their will
Rivers run beneath my window
To the street and down the hill
Ghosts are singing in the backyard
Childrens' songs of long ago
Thunder rolling, thunder drum
Forgotten days like water flow
But when I was a child, I went dancing in the rain...
Wind is waning, misty droplets
Touch my face as dark clouds pass
I am watching from the screen door
Peace to evening comes at last
Rivers run beneath my window
To the street and down the hill
I take my coat and my umbrella
And walk into the night grown still
But when I was a child, I went dancing in the rain...
