PACK HOLIDAYS
9th Paisley Brownies chose the theme of Harry Potter for their first pack holiday. This was also my test weekend for my Pack Holiday Licence. During Pow Wow we chose what names we use for both the girls and the leaders. I was given the name of Dumbledore and the QM was Professor Snape. Madame Pomfrey was the first aider and the other two Guiders were Professor McGonnigal and Hagrid. Our young leader and pack leader chose Hermionne and Harry Potter.
The girls chose to be in towers, and chose North and South Tower for the names of their bedrooms amd Gryffindor, Huffelpuff and Ravenclaw for their day groups.
Once the girls arrived at the brownie house we started on our journey in Hogwarts Express to the school. This was our first craft session before making badges and placements. We decorated plates with faces and stuck them on to the train. After this we went for a torchlight trail before supper of Hagrids Hounds (hot dogs).
Other Crafts included Brooms (from twiggs gathered on a scavenger hunt. Magic Wands (decorated pencils) magic cakes for the ball (Professor Snapes potion class). We also managed a game of quidditch (with soft basketball sets) and a challenge to hunt the snitch.
The girls all enjoyed themselves and are now looking forward to our next pack holiday.
Our next Pack Holiday was run at Easter. This was based on a Disney Theme with lots of Characters from lots of films. It was a very warm and sunny weekend when all indoor activities just had to be cancelled. We had lots of fun in the grounds with campfires, barbeque's, games and running in fields.
There were also parachute games, water games and playing in the garden of the Farmhouse.
On the last night we held our Pyjama Party - Yes, everyone arrived in their fancy PJ's. We had lots of party games, songs and snacks, then off to bed before another hectic morning in the bright sunshine.
