Choose a professional, a contractor who...

	Provides a written agreement explaining how, why and when the work will be done, how long it will take and what you should expect in case extra work is needed or unforeseen events occur. A verbal agreement does not protect you in case of error or misunderstanding.
	Is a real contractor who collects and pays all applicable taxes (moonlighting is prohibited by law). Otherwise, you are not protected legally if an accident occurs or if the contractor does not complete the work satisfactory.
	Is protected by a public liability insurance and a property damage insurance.
	Coordinates the work.
	Ensures follow-up if necessary.
