Howdy!!!

My name is Russell H. Dickey and this is MY page!
I can put what ever I want on it, if my wife let's me!
Do you want the skinny on my life? Well I am going to bore
you any way!..............................................

I was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida to Tom and Edna Dickey.
Yes, I am a Southerner and darn proud of it!!!
This was a great day in history, July 17,1965, because I became
The Greatest Man Alive, just ask my kids and they will tell you !!!!!!
I have a brother Ben and a sister Roxanna.

I grew up, for the most part, in New Port Richey, Florida.
It is also known as "the home of the newly wed and nearly dead"!
I also lived in Dothan, Alabama were my dad attended the Southern
Baptist Institue. His first church was in Graceville, Florida.
I attended Elfers Elementary School, Gulf Jr. High School, and
Gulf Comprehensive High School. My best subjects were girls, gym,
band, drama, and girls! The three best noted are my lovely wife Kimberly
,and two very special friends Liz and Deanna. I went to a school of higher learning
called Pinellas Votech and earned a degree in AC&R. Many thanks to
my mom and dad!!!!!!!

I met my wonderful wife, Kimberly, at church. The first time I spoke
to her she about hit me, but that is another story! But instead she
knocked me out with her blue eyes, blond hair and a beautiful smile!
After some begging, our first date was at a Jerry Lewis Telethon and
her mom (I love you Dolly)was nice enough to come along! That night
she spoke to me about "when you marry my daughter," and boy was it a
good one!!!! How was I to know she was right anyway? :<)

We got hitched on May 28,1988 at Brooker Creek Park in Tarpon Springs,
Florida. It was a sunny, beautiful day with the gators looking on.
We spent our honeymoon in Saint Augustine, Florida.

8 months or so later I joined the US Navy. I spent our first anniversary
in boot camp in Orlando, Florida doing pots and pans. After graduation,
our first son Timothy came about. I then attended ATD in Orlando
before going to my first ship, USS Lexington AVT 16. It was home ported
out of Pensacola, Florida. That is where Timothy was born. Then came
Kasey. He also was born in P-cola. I then cross decked to the
USS Forestall CV/AVT 59 in Mayport, Florida. Soon after, it changed
home ports back to P-cola. Then the dramatic move to Philadelphia
Naval Shipyard. It was there where #3 came about. The ship decommissioned
and off to Norfolk, VA. I was then placed on the USS Mississippi CGN40.
Norfolk is where Carolyn Jean was born. Thank God it happened below the
Mason Dixon Line! I got a chance to see the other side of the US
by attending C-1 Weld School to earn my 4954 weld code.
Next I went to SIMA NORVA for shore duty, if you want
to call it that! Back to school in Great Lakes, Chicago for my 4955 weld code.
I last was stationed on board the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN69. I just returned for shore duty for the last time back at SIMA NORVA and have reunited with great friends from all the ships I have been on!

Ok, it's been a while since I updated! So here's the skinny, it is
December 26, 2006 and I am going to take a few minutes to do this!
The shore duty that I have been at is being turned over to civilians.
I did not have to many choices of orders so I am going back to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
It WILL be my last tour before retirement!!
Hopefully the next year and a few months will go fast!

My newest news is that I am now retired! And right now I am on a road trip! I
am in Jacksonville Alabama with my son Timothy!!!

Where have I been?

All over Europe, the Carribean, Virgin Islands, Haiti, and Cuba!

Hobbies

HO scale trains and slot cars, Golf, Cooking, Cleaning (believe it or not),
my wife and kids! I am working on some of my favorite recipes.

I hope to hear from all of you!
God bless and keep you all in good health!

Prayers Needed

Pray for all of the men and wemen overseas and state side that are fighting for our freedom!!

Today, Aug. 20, 2002 Kim and I recieved some new news about Tim's health. After
doing an MRI on his left leg and hip the doctors have found that he may have
a problem. It is a rare thing, only about 900 cases in the USA, and
it is called Klipple-Trenaunay syndrome. Kim and I are doing research to see
if we can learn more about it but at this point, they have no cure for it
and we are in Gods hands. Please keep him your prayers. He is such a good son
and freind.
