New Priest Arrives.
The
arrival of our new Priest and his wife. Here are Larisa and I along with
Sr.CYMK's representative, Landon MacKay, welcoming Fr.Paul and Dobr. to
our church.
Apple
Picking at Davison Orchards
Our
first outing of the year was apple picking with Sr.CYMK. Actually,
I think we did more of the picking then the seniors but we all
had a great time. We picked over 150lbs. of apples that will be
used for baking for our lunches. After we were finished picking
we all went back to the church to have pizza!!

St.Nicholas Concert
This
year our St.Nicholas Concert was a full blown play. With our Senior group
and our Pre. group we did a version of "The Life and Times of St.
Nicholas". It was a wonderful production to a standing room only
crowd. Everyone who attended learned something about the true
St.Nicholas.
Our
first picture shows Jeff as young St.Nicholas giving money to Elias a poor boy
who needs help to feed his family.

Caroling for Ukrainian
Christmas
Here
we are caroling for the first time ever for Ukrainian Christmas.
We went out several days and tried to carol to everyone in our
Church. We also managed to go to Armstrong, Sicamous, SalmonArm
and Canoe. It was a great time but our advisor (Tammy Lee) also
known as my Mother, kept insisting that we dress up like Mary,
Joseph, shepherds and star bearers. I guess it really wasn't too
bad since everywhere we went they fed us until we were stuffed
full!

"Meeting
of the Lord" Play
Our
next big adventure was our first drama entitled "The Meeting
of the Lord". With many rehearsals and lots of costumes and
sets to make we managed to pull of this great play in front of a
standing room only audience. We were all a bit nervous. The play
was about the first day that baby Jesus went to Church and was
blessed by St.Simeon and Anna (the old lady that took care of the
church). With Fr.George's help we also did a modern service of
the first time a baby is brought to church for the first time. Sr.CYMK
helped us with the full Ukrainian choir and 2 senior members also
assisted us in the play.

here we are after the play with our advisor Tammy. The angels
were the narrators of the play.

Easter
This
year also for the first time we made Easter baskets. We now have
a new advisor to help Tammy and his name is Jim. He was a great
help with the Easter baskets. After we made baskets we went
outside to help with the Church gardens. Some of us stayed inside
to clean the Church as well. We all know that it is very
important to have the Church and it's yard spotless for the
Easter service.
Here
Jim is cutting paska babka for our baskets and at last the final
product of our hard work.
Of
course before every Easter we must have a clean church yard as
well as the church. Here we are (me center) with Jeff (left) and
Keenan (right) along with Mr.And Mrs. Panchuk doing the Easter
yard work.

Ukrainian
Dancing
Here
are myself (left) along with Larisa (Vice-President) and my
brother Mitchel posing in Surrey B.C., where we performed for
Zirka Ukrainian Dancers at the B.C. Cultural Festival. We
competed against other dancers in the province as well as Alberta
and some parts of the states. Our two dances brought us 2 gold
medals to go home with.
