Alex Murray Palmer Haley
August 11, 1921 - February 10, 1992

Alex Haley is the author of two very well know books entitled "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" which was published in 1965 and the novel "Roots:The Saga of an American Family" published in 1976.  He also wrote a couple television mini-series and other less well known books and papers.  Alex Haley can be credited with popularizing the geneaology movement in the United States due to "Roots" being made into a mini-series in 1977.  Haley wrote the book with 12 years of research about his own family tree.  He went as far back as 1767.  Below you will find a list of links where you can discover more about this interesting author.
