Introduction

This is my Tamagotchi Angel in pearl blue color with silver wings.

Colors:Other colors include white with gold wings, red with silver wings, and green with gold wings.
All of them have 'Tamagotchi Angel' written across the top.

This is the LCD screen.

Icons:Icons are the same, only in a different and better order: meter, food, play, flush, praise(same as discipline), medicine, lights, attention. The appearance of them has changed, though.
The meter is now heard-shaped. Food is a spoon, play is a shining star, and flush is a toilet roll.
Praise is a bell, medicine is Cupid's arrow and bow, lights is a shining candle, and attention is an angel head with wings.

Below is a chart detailing the functions, along with some of my own observations.

Meter
  • 1st screen shows the angel's age and Angel Power (AP). There is no "weight" in this version. Every character has a different max angel power.
*Note: The amount of Angel Power is crucial in getting certain characters.
  • 2nd screen is the Deeds meter. This is increased the same way as Discipline, with each praise adding 3 or 4 bars. 4 successful praising sessions is enough to fill the whole bar.
  • 3rd screen shows hunger indicated by 4 hearts.
  • Last screen shows the happiness in 4 hearts.
Food
You can choose between meal and snack. Meal is a pie and fills 1 hungry heart. Snack is a heart-shaped chocolate and increases the angel power (AP). It wouldn't increase the happiness, so you have to play the 'Jumping Star' game. When feeding the snack, be careful. A bat would sometimes try to steal the angel's chocolate. Use the new touch screen feature to tap it away.(see below)
Play
You have 5 chances to help the angel jump over a star, and it is a timing/reaction game that you can control. Repeatedly jamming the A button would not win the game: watch carefully. Playing games do not affect the angel power.
Flush
When you see a poop on the screen, select this option to flush it away. 1 flush cleans all the poop onscreen.
Miscellanous observations: The angel's poop sparkles(!). And it dunks right after it prays.
Praise
  • When the angel beeps for you and you see it doing some funny things, such as surrounded by stars or waving a stick(?), it's praying. Then you have to praise it. 1 praise fills 1/4 of the Deeds meter.
Miscellanous observations: If you see a poop on the screen, you have missed the praying session.
  • This icon is also used to call the angels back from a walk. Occasionally they would disappear from the screen (in the Japanese version it shows a closed door), just select the praise icon to call them back. If they still do not appear, tap the egg.
More Miscellanous observations: After you call them back from a walk, every character has a different 'move'. You can see the moves on some of the characters on Tam Angel close-ups.
Medicine
When the angel is sick and you see a skull on the screen, give medicine.
Miscellanous observations: Angels never get sick unless you turn out their lights during daytime.
Lights
When the angel is sleeping and you see Z's appear near their heads, turn out the lights. Never turn out the lights when it's awake, or it will get sick.
Miscellanous observations: Angels sleep on a puffy cloud. Cute.
Attention
The angels will beep/call for you when:
  • All their hunger and happiness hearts are empty,
  • They are praying,
  • They are sleeping and need you to turn out their lights.

They won't call for you when they are going for a walk, so you have to look to see if they are.
Touch Screen Feature The name is 'touch screen', but you don't have to tap the screen. You can just tap the top part of the egg. This function is used when:
  • The bat comes and tries to steal away the angel's chocolate. Tap the screen to scare the bat. If you fail, the angel would be unhappy and its Deeds meter will drop by 1/4, so you have to praise it again.
  • The angel goes for a walk. Use the praise icon to call them back, then tap the screen.

Characters: There are a total of 13 characters, 4 of them secret. Bandai's official growth chart, but now it's unavailable.
The secret characters are: Twins, a Smiling/Boxing character with gloves, a Samurai, and a Lucky Poop(!!!).
*Incidentally, one thing I think that was improved with Tam Angels is how much easier it is to get secret characters. As long as you keep the AP within the desirable range and do a moderately good job taking care of them, you are almost guaranteed to get a secret character or two. The growth rate helps too.

Growth:Tam Angels grow at a very fast rate. Starting when they are born, they change into teenage characters when they are 2, and they turn into adults when they are 3. They will become secret characters usually when they are 6 (or 5).
Because of the accerelated growth rate, they start to become needy when they are only 8 or 9.

Differences between the original Tamamagotchi and Tam Angel: See Differences

'Departure' time:The angels can't die because they are already dead. So they return to 'angel city', or 'angel heaven'. (Whatever they call it...) There are 2 kinds of return--'healthy' or 'unhealthy'.
