Once in a decade, a certain game is released that keeps everyone in the house. These games help inspire people like myself to become game developers. This certain game I am babbling about is Metal Gear Solid. This game is a totally new experience. Recently, Doom-style games have flooded the market. Everyone is trying to create better mazes, smarter AI's, better graphics, but few are actually improving on gameplay. Well, in Metal Gear, a new type of gameplay is meshed into the mix, along with a fantastic story-line.

In gameplay, stealth is emphasized. Solid Snake, the main character, is told to infiltrate a nuclear army base and stop the nuclear warheads from being fired. A typical action movie plot, but instead of watching, you are interacting and experiencing the feel. There is nothing like having your heart rate race as you slowly try to avoid all the guards, mines, and cameras. There are some extremely suspenseful moments that make your heart go crazy. In the gameplay, you try to avoid and sneak by passing guards and cameras. Sometimes you can just walk behind them, which is kind of weird sometimes, but no game is 100 percent perfect, but this game does come close. Also, all the cool gadgets Solid Snake uses are extremely cool! You are able to use thermal goggles, night vision goggles, high-tech weaponary, and even use mines!

The story is terrific as well! This game is practically an interactive movie. The story can completely submerge you into the Metal Gear World! Also there are plot twists and romance to keep anyone interested and wanting more.

Overall, if you own a Playstation, this game is a must buy. The movie-like sequences are fantasitc; they need to be seen to believe. Oh yeah, you need the dual-shock controller to completely enjoy this game. It really helps you feel like you are in the game! In the end, BUY THE GAME!
