I am but who I am. And who I am is who I am. There is not a single soul who can take that away from me, or tell me otherwise. This is who I am.

2006 Bikini Bullriding Calendar, and the Harley Davidson I won 10/22/2005

Well, I guess I should tell you a little more about myself before I continue. I'm a college graduate with an Associates of Science degree in Equine Sciences. I currently teach horseback riding lessons at a barn in Plumsteadville, PA. Oh yeah, did I mention I'm a Jersey girl?? I've been transplanted to the "lovely" state of PA. Joy.

Some other things that I enjoy?? I hang out at a club called Montana West. I spend almost every Saturday night there (that would be a country music night). You can most likely find me by the bull, on the dance floor, or in the Horsepower Grill singing Karaoke (I hang at Finn McCools on Wednesdays in Lansdale as well, and Vincent's and Friends in Coopersburg on Thursdays). For the past three years I have ridden in the Bikini Bullriding contest, competing to win a brand new Harley Davidson Sportster 883 XL, and I finally won in on Oct. 22nd. So I now have my bike.

2001 Intercollegiate Horse Show Associations Zone 3 Championships

Well, as you can see, I show horses. In 1996, I traveled on the NJ Quarter Horse circuts, competing in Mullica Hills, Freehold, and Sussex. At that time, I showed western, in western pleasure, western horsemanship, and showmanship. I currently ride english and jump about 3 foot 6 inches. I ride and compete in Hunter Paces and have been in a Horse Trial (a mini three day event-like what they have in the Olympics). I got 5th out of 8--thats good. In 1996, I recieved a 3rd place in Western Pleasure 14-18, 6th in Western Horsemanship 14-18, and 6th in Showmanship 14-18 for NJQHA year end awards. IN 1997, I was the Non-regsitered Champion for the NJ Pony Breeders' Assoc. I currently show on the Intercollegiate Horse Show circut with Del Val in Zone 2 Region 3. I recently classed in the Open Division in Western (and Novice Flat and Fences in Hunt Seat. I qualified for Zones in Advanced Western Horsemanship, where I placed third. Along with that I qualified for Regionals in 2003 for Novice Hunt Seat Over Fences and Novice Hunt Seat on the Flat!! I currently show in Zone 3 Region 2 in the Alumni division. This is the first year I've ridden IHSA since 2003 . . . It's a little nerve wracking but hey, I'll get used to it again.

Now we head into the music side of things.
I am part of the Hawthorne Caballeros, a senior drum and bugle corps. Cabs are known for their somberos, bell bottoms, and latin styled music. So far, they have racked up 8 DCA Championship, 5 undefeated seasons, 11 Legion Championships, and 15 National Championships. In 1995, they scored the highest score DCA has ever known . . . until this year. The 97.7 score was bettered by 0.2 by the DCA Champions for 1998- the Empire Statesmen. This past season we placed 5th . . . but hey, you're gonna kick some butt in 2000!!
I've been with the corps since 1997, when I started on the Equipment Staff. In 1998 and 1999, I was in the pit, Mallets the first year, and latin last year. Then I was a mellophone . . . or shall I say a horn player with a split personality. Half the show in the pit, the other on the field . . . I can handle it. This past I season, I was back in the pit. 2002 I came back to join the Honor Guard. ALthough I no longer march with the corps, it is still a part of my life. I have many friends involved, and after 2004's World Champion title, I know we are looking foward to repeating the winning tradition this year.

Now we head into the last and final reason why I'm never around town. I used belong to Persuasion Winter Guard, based in Fair Lawn, NJ. Persuasion is an Indepent indoor color guard that competes on the EMBA/MAA circuts. Within the last three years, we won the UCGA A Class Gold Medal, 2 UCGA Open Class Gold Medals, 1 Connecticut Open Open Class Gold Medal, competed at the Montreal Regional twice, and competed at the Norristown Regional once. I joined in 1997 (in Feburary) to learn for the 1998 competing season. 1999 was my last year with Persuasion.

In 2000, I was a foundation member of Emanon Winter Guard, an independent guard located in my home town in Pompton Plains, NJ. I was on both Sabre and Rifle that year, which was really cool, and we had a blast. Our Sabre line was undefeated in the medal shows, and we took all the special awards at championships and placed third overall . . . not bad for a first year guard. :) I'm the girl on the bar in that top picture.
