Thoughts and Memories

From my own mind, and other sources...........with no logical reason for placement. Random thoughts. Expressions. Sayings. Truisms. Humor. Whatever.

Time, like a snowflake, disappears while we're trying to decide what to do with it.

You can close your eyes to reality, but not to memories.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

There can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do.

There are three kinds of people in this world: those who know how to count and those who don't.

Hard work never hurt anyone, but then neither did a whole lot of rest.

Leave a little time in every day to dream.

Time flies like the wind. Fruit flies like bananas.

Happiness is the pursuit of something, not the catching of it.

Love is like a violin: it's great to play, but there are strings attached.

Always do the right thing. This will please some people and astonish the rest.

My sincere hope is never to become so blase' that the simple joys of life become passe'.

There are two things to aim for in life: first, to get what you want; and, after that, to enjoy it. Only the very wise achieve the second.

I realize that the above doesn't contain any memories......I'll add some of them in the future.......cause this page will be in a constant state of flux. But I would like to end this page on an entirely different note. The following is an Indian Prayer. It came from the Red Cloud Indian School, Pine Ridge, South Dakota. I love the sentiments it conveys........and think that this world would be a lot better place if we all held these wishes in our hearts.

An Indian Prayer

O' Great Spirit,
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me! I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.

Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes.

So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.
