The Buzzi Watch & Electronic company is situated in a small Alpine town in Aquila (which means "Eagle"), in canton Ticino, the italian-speaking part in Switzerland.

Founded in the 60’s, BUZZI Co. started its "terminage" activity, watch assembling for Swiss companies. In the 70’s it became one of the first companies in Switzerland to be oriented with electronic-quartz watches - in particular, the assembling of electronic modules.

Years past, the company expanded and towards the end of the 80’s, with the objective of securing employment, initiated production of promotional watches with its own brand name :

BUZZI Switzerland.

 

Also in the 80’s, with the same goal of rendering attractive job placements in Blenio Valley and to diversify the type of production , the company founded SENSORMATIC SA. whose activity centers in the electronic section, producing electronic equipments, parts, utilizzing the specific quality and manpower accustomed in the precision of watch making.

Moreover, SENSORMATIC SA. is equiped with modern machineries for automatic assembling (SMD) for electronic cards.

 International Shows

Expanding horizons, BUZZI Group decided to voice out its capabilities also in the international scene through well-known watch, Jewelry exhibits.

In addition to the world famous BASEL Fair and CANNES World Tax Free Show, the BUZZI SA. also exhibited in JA International Watch and Jewelry Show in New York where BUZZI’s Mariotta Watch Model, was awarded the title Innovative Design

After the citation received at the 1996 JA International Show in New York, Mariotta watch has been through pages on local newspapers and international journals, Every articles emphasizes the uniqueness of this timepiece-made of steel or titanium and one of the few watches in the world to have the dial and the case sculpted out of the same block of steel or titanium, made with the advance technology spark electro- erosion usually used for aerospace industry

Mariotta Watch has taken part of the book "The Art of the Watch" which made its pictorial exhibit and book launching during this year’s JA International Watch & Jewelry Show last Jan 25-28 1997. It will also be exhibited at the American Clock & Watch Museum when it opens April this year.

Chronograph date and moon phase is designed in a classic avionic style. The second movement allows the user to follow the time in another time zone.

This Avionic Luminous Chronograph Model By BUZZI Switzerland has been photographed, worn by McDonnell Douglas Test piliot (the company which produce DC11 e DC9 of Swissair and the F-A / 18 of Swiss Military aeronautics).
