Otto Lilienthal was the premier flyer of his time. He invented the hang glider and when he died, in an flying accident, the news spurred the Wrights to take up where he left off. His death, infact, helped the age of flight to begin. This piece is to honor Otto and as such, it itself is a great piece. The wings are made from hammered copper and the body of the glider is made from bronze rod. The figure is cast bronze with a traditional black finish. The piece is suspended from a ceiling from guy wires.
