AN INDIAN PRAYER

Whose voice I hear in the winds, and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me! I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.

A long trail of experiences can tire us to the bone
but given the right attitude they can refine us aswell.
Our difficulties may not be cherished memories
but they will create a deeper understanding to serve a purpose.

Nothing test a person's mettle like standing firm when it would be easy to collapse.
Nothing drains power like hindsight--but this is the important
time to put things past in the past. Like the baby chick
which pecks its way out of the shell to get its strength to stand,
we feel the strain to know what we can do.
The things that try us make us strong.

They approach like foxes, fight like lions, and disappear like birds.

Now is the time for all peoples to come together so that we can be free of depression and rasizm. When we put our people to work we can always win. I have found out that when I think about it, all we need to do is to work together and we can move the world. Forget about all this rasizm and worrying about what your neighbor is doing. Our maker didn't set this in our minds, man did. Mother Earth is for all of us to use and take care of. With all the other problems that we as human beings have in this man made world we shouldn't make more for ourselves, but we will, to spite our selves. The problem we have with so many people today is that all

they think about is themselves and to hell with my neighbor. In this world today there are so many things that could be done to help the invironment that we should be doing, other than fighting about who is going to do it. So to sum up, we have to get to work on this old Mother Earth and save her life before it is to late to do anything about it. Every person in this world was made from the same mold and the only differance betwen us is what our parents have taught us. All of us could change this world and make it a better place to live, if we would just think about our fellow man.
