ULURU CATTERY HOME PAGE

I want to thank you for the opportunity of providing you with information regarding our cattery and clubs we work with. On this web page we will give you a brief synopsis of our policies and those of the breed clubs we work with.

Here at Uluru Cattery we work with two breeds on a very limited basis. The breeds are the LaPerm and  the Ocicat. Generally we will have only one or two litters in each breed in any given year. This is because we feel it is in the best interest of the cats to maintain small numbers. To breed more, we would have to have more cats. Our reasoning for this is that as numbers increase, so does the chance for disease, not to mention the fact that we feel each animal deserves a certain amount of attention each day. With more animals the amount of attention each one gets is diminished. We also feel that when finished breeding an individual animal it is best for that animal to be placed in a loving home where it will get even more attention than we are able to give. We will therefore occasionally have adults available at a nominal cost.

We are proud to inform you that ours is a Cattery of Excellence, an honor bestowed upon us by the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA). In order to obtain the certificate, a licensed veterinarian must check our facility on an annual basis and then send the results to CFA. There are certain criteria that must be met with regard to sizing of cat areas as well as cleanliness in all aspects of the cattery. We are also proud of our holistic, natural way of feeding and raising our cats.
