Dave's Harp Page

This is a picture of my

Lyon & Healy

Prelude.

Designed with the performance artist in mind,

this romantic classic features a solid spruce soundboard for a rich,

warm tonal quality, Loveland Levers and 38 strings

ranging from 6th Octave C to 1st Octave E.

A scalloped brass crown and matching claw feet

complement the classical appearance of the Prelude’s graceful base

and delicately fluted column. Artistically styled with the elegance

of the pedal harp, the Prelude features the same

string spacing and tension as a pedal harp.

I ordered my harp from Sylvia Woods Harp Center

Sylvia Woods Harp Center

Sylvia Woods and all the ladies are very helpful

and can answer your questions about harps and she has a great

line of accessories and music too.

Check out her Harp Center web site and if you are interested in

purchasing a new harp I highly recommend her.

I have had my harp about a year and I am still learning.

I don't have a teacher here so I am working on it as I can on my own.

If anyone knows of a local teacher please let me know.

The harp is supposed to help relieve the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis.

I saw a special on TV one day the early part of 1997 about a group

called "The Healing Harps". I started to follow up on the information by searching

the Internet. I found a lot of information about Music Therapy and the

use of Harps to help MS so I contacted Sylvia Woods and the rest is history.

I have a lot to learn, started from scratch, but one day I am going to play the

Harp, and I am going to play it well. You have to have goals, that is mine

and it is in writing, so it is sure to have an excellent chance of coming true.

If you would like to be my Harp Teacher please email me:
