MARY BETH BEAD ART

Spirit of the Paint Pony by Mary Beth

Although the Pony came late in the history of North American Natives, it has been a powerful influence; stories have been passed over as well as visual depictions. The Paint Pony in this rendition illustrates the beauty and practicality of the horse in history. It blends into its surroundings portraying swiftness and strength. The hand print on the pony’s rump reflects the ways of the past for the People of the Plains. The top boarder is an adaption from a design of “Jingle Dress.”

This wall hanging is woven using lustrous black, red, gold and white seed beads. It measures 11 1/4 inches wide by 14 inches long (fringe included). It is created of well over 28,000 - 1/10 size seed beads. It is signed by the artist; she always weaves 3 silver seed beads into her work. Each of Mary Beth’s hangings is one of a kind never to be duplicated by the artist.
