Helpful Tips
-
Don't store your photos in the older
"magnetic" albums. If you have photos in "magnetic" albums, remove
them amd store them in envelopes or photo boxes until you're ready to put
them in your new albums.
-
Don't use ballpoint pens to label the
backs of your photos. This can cause indentations or smearing on
other photos. Instead, use a photo-marking pencil for labeling.
-
Don't feel like you have to use every
picture in your album. Choose the best photos for your album and
store the rest in an acid free box.
-
Don't let the stickers, die cuts and
other decorations on a page overshadow the pictures and journaling.
-
Work on scrapbooks with friends or family
so you can share and pool your supplies.
-
Swap extra supplies or things you no
longer use with other scrapbookers.
-
Save all your papers and use them for
punching out designs, backing smaller photos and cutting out shapes.
-
If you use double-sided adhesive, cut
them into pieces for mounting smaller photos or die cuts.
-
Trace your own clip art from a child's
coloring book.
-
Save greeting cards and wrapping paper
to use for cutting out designs and punches (test pH for acid).
-
When processing your film, have duplicates
made. Duplicates are much cheaper than reprints made later.
