1983 - present The Brooklin Bulletin Publishing Company Limited, President & General Manager - Responsible for all actions with regard to taxation, legal issues, financial planning and marketing plans. 1996 - 1998 Tampere University, Tampere, Finland -MSc, Marketing. Visiting Student. Course of study included International Business, Intercultural Relations, Strategic Management, American History, Finnish Language, and Hypermedia computer applications.
1992 - 2000 York University, Toronto, Canada -graduated with Bachelor of Administrative Studies, (Honours) Marketing -Focus on Marketing Science, and Management studies.
1981 - 1987 Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology, Oshawa, Canada -graduated with diploma in Business Administration -three year course covered all areas of business studies including personnel management, marketing, computers, accounting and management skills
Organizations
Age 8 - present Scouts Canada, Whitby District Council Venturer Company Advisor/Council Past President - involved with Scouts as a youth in the Cub and Scout program, and then as a Cub activity leader from age 14 to 17. At age 18, I took on the role of Cubmaster (key leader) and continued until 1987. My role then changed to Venturer Advisor for the youth section for ages 14 to 17 years. The Venturer program is high adventure and includes canoeing, survival and winter camping, social and fitness activities, all designed to help build independence and character in the youth. In 1992 I was recruited to fill the position of District Council Vice-President with the portfolio of public relations. In 1994 I was elected President of the council for a two year term. During my years in Scouting, I have had the opportunity to lead Scouts to jamborees in Canada '89 '93 '97 '01 '05, South Korea '91, Brazil '93, The Netherlands '95, Chile '99, Thailand '03, Switzerland '07. I have taken extensive training through Scouting on leadership, administration and training techniques and am now conducting training sessions for Scout Canada. While in Finland, I was involved in Scouting through district and group activities. In April 1998 I travelled with the Finnish Scouts to St. Petersburg Russia on a international relations visit. In 1998 I was awarded Scouts Canada's Medal for Good Service to Scouting, in 2003 I was awarded the Medal of Merit and in 2005 recognized for 25 years adult service to the organization.
1987 - present Optimist Club of Brooklin -I joined the Optimist International club because their motto is "Friend of Youth." I am currently Secretary-Treasurer. Charter president club and guided the club to honour and distinguished status in its first year. Actively participated in the club's educational and recreational programs including: conducting art camps, youth clubs, ski lessons, kite days, essay & oratorical contests, bicycle safety events, youth leadership workshops, national & international conventions, and more. I have regularly donated four to six hours a week to help the youth in the community. In 2003 I was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal for community service.

Other Recreational Activities
Physical: Scouting activities (hiking, canoeing, camping, etc.), bowling, alpine skiing
Relaxation: I enjoy movies, cooking and reading (mostly current events)
Travel: I have always enjoyed travelling and discovering new places. I have been to over 40 different countries in Asia, North America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe.
