Prepare your sun glasses (use at least 4 or 5 on top of each other), cameras (iso 100), digital cameras and videocameras coz on August 11 there will be a total eclipse of the sun in most of the european continent before lunchtime. Description:

"A total solar eclipse occurs when a new moon comes exactly between the Earth and the sun. For more than an hour, the moon gradually obscures the sun leading to the eerie moment when darkness stretches from horizon to horizon, usually accompanied by a sharp drop in temperature, a stilling of the wind and the appearance of the brighter stars if the atmosphere is clear.
For a few instants before and after the total eclipse, bright beads of lights shine through valleys on the edge of the moon. As the eclipse passes, the horizon fills with a pale luminescence, daylight gradually returns and birds begin to sing again. During the partial phases of the eclipse, tree leaves acting as pinhole cameras scatter images of the crescent sun on the ground."

A company from Israel developed Cguard, a cellphone jamming device, that is as big as a paperback book which will block all cellphones that are close by. For instance, restaurant owners who don't allow cellphones can use the cguard to trick the phones which simply display that it can't find a network. Cinemas will also find use of this, were people apparently answer their calls in the middle of a movie. Other customers include Operas, Banks and the military. Normal consumers may also purchase it ($1000) eventhough legal use of the cguard may vary from country to country

It seems the Series5mx is much faster than the original series5. The background lighting uses half as much power and the 'buzzing' sound has diminished dramatically. It also has twice as much memory (16mb). The difference between the 5mx and the MC218 is that the Ericsson unit is even cooler: it is WAP enabled, has extra phone software, a clip on IR modem (DI27) which fits on the 600/700 series ericsson cell phones, and a postcard software that can ir sync with a digital camera ir port and send the acquired digital image as an e-mail for instance.
