My Bio...Just who do I think I am?

LineOfRedHearts

The Basics

I am Donna Kay. I was born on July 22nd, 1954, less than 30 miles from where I now live. I live in a very small town (population 106) in the middle of Missouri, near the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks area. My hair and eyes match...both are brown. I am 5'3" tall, and weigh 110 pounds. (That photo was taken in June of 1998.)

My family moved from Missouri to Bamberg, Germany when I was five years old (Army brat). I only have a few memories of Germany...most are of my second grade year. In the middle of the third grade, my family moved to Columbus, Georgia (near Ft. Benning). I was pretty shy and quiet until the sixth grade...I had at long last, begun to become my own person. In the middle of my freshman year in high school, we moved back to Missouri. I was finally allowed to wear makeup and go on real dates when I turned fifteen. I then entered the 'Great University of Life'!

I will be forever grateful to husband #1 for the greatest gift of my life...my daughter, Shannon Leigh, who has grown into a beautiful 26 year old young woman, in spite of her mother's genetic influence. (Kudos, Shan!) Most of what I have learned about unconditional love, I learned either through the eyes or through the reflection in the eyes of my daughter.

Five years ago, I was privileged to be in the room at the birth of Shannon's son...my grandson, Justin Tyler. Justin is my buddy...I will teach him how to make great adventures happen anywhere...anytime.

Passions

Possessions, professions, positions, power, testosterone, tears, money or muscle neither intimidate nor impress me. What I am impressed by and what I have a passion for, are those who follow the beat of their own drum...be that beat agreeable to me or not. Search for what you truly believe and wish to do...then believe and do with passion...if you cannot, begin your search again. Life was meant to be lived with passion. I have greater respect for, and would rather keep company with, a passionate adversary than a complaisant stroaker.

Philosophy

I refuse to compete if someone must lose. I do not believe my lot in life is competitive in nature, but one of support. When I learn, I do so overtly...when I teach, I do so covertly. Although I am in no wise 'religious', I am very spiritual in my own personal way, and quite intuitive most of the time. I believe the most important task in front of me at any given time is to continue to learn how to love unconditionally...and in the process, create as many lasting, positive memories for myself and others as possible. Some circumstances that create the most lasting memories come very easy and natural...others take a bit of orchestration...either way, life's greatest lessons and adventures are not only born out of peace and plenty, but adversity and pain as well. A true searcher welcomes the fire because they know fire is the only thing that can purify gold. The gold I have is very impure. I am learning to welcome the fire.

The Good, Bad, the Ugly and the Wierd:

I write with my left hand, but that is the only thing I can do with my left hand. I believe in UFO's. I've been married three times and divorced three times...haven't learned how to do it yet...I've only learned how not to do it. I have most (if not all) of the characteristic physical markings of a 15th century witch ...husband #1 thinks I am one. : ) I feel very drawn to the Holy Lands and Egypt. I fly in my dreams. I love British comedy...especialy Fawlty Towers, Mr. Bean and The Blackadder. I love to dance (slow). I prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I believe in the person I dream myself to be...I'm nowhere near finished with me yet.
