Breeding Program
BREEDING PROGRAM:

Hi Plains sheep are being selected for reproductive productivity (201% lamb crop weaned in 1999), ecomonic performance, structural correctness, frame size, longevity, muscle, correct feet and legs, smooth shoulders, breed character and show ring eye appeal. Rams that have made an impact in developing this flock include Chapman 92-036, Miller 3103, Majic Valley 95-24 and more recently LUXFORD 703.

SAMPLE OF MATURE EWES TAKEN IN OCTOBER 1998

Our 1999 lamb crop was sired by RUNNING HORSE, CULHAM-STEVENS 283, HI PLAINS 80215 AND HI PLAINS 80115. All these rams are carrying the "RR" codon 171. We have no history of spiders in our flock.
