Arehart is the former Director of the Sheep Production Program at Colby Community College. Prior to tenure at CCC he was Director of Sheep Research for Kansas State University stationed at Colby Branch Experiment Station, Colby KS. From 1970-1974 he served on the University of Illinois research staff in charge of a research flock of1500 ewes. During this time he authored or co-authored over 60 publications. His expertise is in the areas of nutrition, breeding, reproduction and management. Arehart has managed lamb feedlots and large ewe flocks.
