So, in September of 2008 Steve was invited to present a seminar on his research topic to a "select" group of people interested in his general area of research (evolution of breeding systems - yes SEX!). The event was sponsored by Volkswagon, so room and board was provided as well as some travel funding. This provided a good opportunity to bring the family again to Europe, so we WENT FOR IT! The meeting was 5 days and then we spent another 10 days traveling the lower part of Germany (Bavaria). We were lucky enough to hit the very beginning of Oktoberfest, which was quite the experience!
