Thailand Pictures

In January of 2006, Steve was invited to Khon Kaen, Thailand to collaborate with a colleague, Dr. La-orsri Sanaomuang, and to present his research at Khon Kaen University. Claudia accompanied him on the trip, partly to get some Thai beads for her jewelry business but mainly to see Thailand! It was a FABULOUS trip! La-orsri and her husband Niwat were amazingly great hosts! They put us up in the best hotel in Khon Kaen while Steve was visiting the University and then they took 10 days off of work to drive us around Thailand as our personal guides! La-orsri is the Dean of her college and Niwat is an associate Dean. I just can't see a U.S. couple of such academic stature doing anything so kind to visiting professors! PLUS, Khon Kaen University footed the bill for all the hotel and much of the meals for our trip! It was a dream come true for Claudia and Steve!

Thailand is an amazingly beautiful country, and the pictures on the accompanying pages are only a subset of many amazing pictures that we took on the trip. If you ever get a chance to go to Thailand, JUMP on it!
