Sophie's First Few Months

NEWS FLASH:

Our second daughter, Sophie, is HERE! She was born on April 12th, at 10:58 AM, via a C-section. Everything went well, except for the POWER OUTAGE during the surgery! [Note: there is NOTHING quite like having ALL the lights go off deep in the bowels of a hospital during a major surgical procedure!!!] Steve was again present during the surgery, and was better able to deal with it this time around. Again, Claudia was the real star, and came through like a champ!

Sophie weighed in at 8 lbs., 7.5 oz., and was 20.5 inches long, even though she was 9 days early! Lord knows how big she would have gotten if left to go until she was "ready"! Below is a shot of Sophie in her first few hours (Fig. 1).

We have finally gotten another picture ready, this one of Sophie and her sister Sarah (Fig. 2).  Having both girls has really been hard to get used to, and thus we haven't had the time to get a lot of pictures done.  However, now that Sophie is sleeping more (7-9 hrs. a night!!!), we are feeling a bit more "perky," and are beginning to get things done!  SO, look for more pictures in the hopefully near future!

Below is a picture of Sophie (~7 mos.) sitting on our back porch. Ain't she the cutest???

Below is a picture of Sarah and Sophie lying together on "Grandma and Grandpa in the Big City's" couch (Sarah's name for Claudia's parents, who live in Manhattan). Sophie is doing her characteristic "touching of the face" pose.

Here are Sarah and Sophie around Christmas, 2002. The girls were getting along great for their "group picture"!

Stay tuned for pictures of the Weil/Weeks family!
