HOW TO SUBMIT INFORMATION TO JUNTUNEN FAMILY HISTORY PROJECT

1. Please prepare an Ancestor Tree Chart and Family Group Charts for all known generations of the direct Juntunen descendant being researched. Submit your completed Ancestor Chart(s) along with Family Group Chart(s) to your Family Branch Representative or State Representative listed on the Contact Page. Feel free to enlarge the charts at your photo copy center to allow more room for data entry. Remember to keep photo copies of all material submitted.

2. Collect information from the best possible sources reasonably available. See list of acceptable primary or secondary sources for family genealogy facts.

3. For names, use current or most recently used first, middle, and legal surname(last name). Include maiden name for females. After first, middle, or surname, list in parenthases other names used.

4. Submit data on a separate Family Group Chart for each couple and their children in each known generation. Use following date format for all dates: Month Day Year. Example: January 01, 1900. (Spell out name of month, use zero with single digit days, and fill in full year)

5. Submit places of birth, marriage, death, and burial. List Town, County, State or Province, and Country where event occurred.

6. It is very important to include the sources of your information in the blanks for sources.

7. If either individual in a marriage has been married before, please submit a separate Family Group Chart for other marriages and list children of other marriages with natural parents.

8. Use a separate Family Group Chart for a single individual living independant of parents. If two individuals living together wish to be listed as partners or as a family with children, list individuals and/or family group on a single Family Group Chart and have parties voluntarily indicate status.

9. If an individual is single or divorced and has children, it is voluntary for an individual to indicate if children are natural, adoptive, or if individual has custody. Status of children may be indicated in the blank for this purpose next to child’s name.

10. If an individual is divorced and does not wish to submit name of ex spouse, list individual alone on Family Group Chart. It is the Individual’s choice to indicate marital status: divorced, or marriage annulled, or dates of events, in the blank for marital status.

11. If a divorced individual wishes to submit name of ex-spouse, place ex-spouse’s name and dates on line after blank for date divorce was final. In comments space indicate whether ex-spouse was a parent to any children listed in the family group chart of primary individual on Family Group Chart.

12. If any information is unsure or approximate, please indicate this after data.

13. Submit current address of individual or family. If possible, please indicate past places of residence. List occupation of individuals.

14. You may submit a 1-2 page, single-spaced history. Clearly identify name of individual or family. An original story of general interest about Juntunen descendents, up to 20 pages with writer or source identified, may be submitted for consideration by Juntunen book editorial committee.

15. If possible, have your historic photo of an individual or family group copied professionally (in black & white or color) and submit only a copy of the original photo. (Please do not submit originals of valuable, historic photos.) Clearly identify individual(s) or family. Include a self-addressed envelope w/ return postage. When photo selections are completed, photo(s) will be returned.
