2008 Prediction and Weekly Comments
Preseason Prediction:
Lane Kiffin is starting off with a blank page instead of my usual prediction that the University of Tennessee will be National Champions. This year, I predict the Vols will win 7 and lose 5 and get back into a bowl game.
Sept. 6, 2009 after the Western Kentucky game:
The Vols certainly showed spirit that I have not seen in a long time. We will know a lot more when UCLA visits.Sept. 13, 2009 after the loss to UCLA:
It is tempting to say, "Same old Vols as last year." But the test for this team will be how well they bounce back from this mess of errors. Will it drag down the whole season or will they fight back and prove they can compete with the best in the SEC?Sept. 20, 2009 after the battle with Florida:

The Changing of the Stepping Stones
As everyone knows I am a die-hard Vol fan. I lived in Georgia for several years and have one daughter who gradutated from UT and one who graduated from UGA.
I have a stepping stone for each school. I decided to use these stones to honor the winner of the game each year. So after the game, I perform the ritual of changing the stones when the other team wins.
On the left, are the stones as they appeared on October 10th before the game.
On the right are the stones in their rightful order after the Vols crushed the Dawgs 45-19 and Lane Kiffen told his players, they would never lose to Georgia while he is coach.
Here are the results of the past ten games. The Vols shocked everyone and won this one. But the Bulldogs are 6-4 over the past ten years.

Conference Comparisons
We, in the South, always assert that the SEC is the strongest conference in the Nation. However, other conferences may have good reasons to claim that they are the best. After the bowl season, I have my own method for determining the strongest conference.
