About Us    Books for Kiddos

These are books that have been suggested from various people on different adoption mailing lists and adoption boards. I haven't read all of them, but please check out the reviews and decide for yourselves. We receive a small commission of books that are sold on our page. We use our commissions to buy these books and hopefully better prepare ourselves for our future role as parents.

If you are interested in a book just click either on the bookcover or link, it will take you directly to amazon.com, use "back" to return to this page.

Parenting

"Real Parents, Real Children; Parenting the Adopted Child" by Holly Van Gulden  ** This book I liked because I was able to see myself in the same situations.  It applies to both domestic and international adoption

"Loving Hands : The Traditional Art of Baby Massage" by Frederick Leboyer

"Attachment Parenting : Instinctive Care for Your Baby & Young Child"  by Katie Allison Granju  **I read this book recently and I have mixed feelings about it.  It is definitely slanted towards bio parents and it was difficult for me to pull an info that I could apply towards raising Aidan.
