Volunteer Opportunities In the World Of Animals
There are so many possibilities for lending a helping hand to the
animal community. The obvious ones that spring to mind are your
local animal shelters, humane society, and zoological society. Your local humane society
and animal shelters need people to walk the dogs, rock the puppies and kittens, pet the cats, and sometimes they need a foster home for animals when they get crowded or have a special needs animal. Give them a call and find out how you can help.
But, also consider the following situation:
Elderly citizens often have animal companions for the daily company that they may no longer be receiving from their families. However, many of the elder population are unable to exercise their pets, especially if the pet is a dog. Perhaps you could befriend an older person, offer to walk their dog, or if possible, walk both the dog and the person. Drive them to a park and give them both a real treat!
